I've been a Salazar client since 1992 and have had multiple cats and dogs the entire time. (We topped out at 5 dogs and 4 cats a few years back.) My experiences over 30 years have all been 100% positive. They are competent, caring, kind people, from the front desk staff to the techs and vets. I have never heard a staff member be rude to any client, but I have heard clients be difficult and one even threatened that she would let her dog bite the tech who was trying to work with the dog. The one star reviews puzzle me for that reason. It is a busy office and there is a wait to have your animal seen - BUT, they hold a few slots open and if you call at 8:00 am, they can usually get you in that day if you feel your pet is having an emergency. There is an extra charge for this, but I've paid it and was glad I did. Sometimes a pet needs to see a vet without delay. Cost is not out of line and the care is excellent. I am blown away with their diagnostic and surgery skills, too. Yep, 5 stars with an exclamation point from me!

I've been going to Salazar Rd vet clinic for 20 years and the vets have all been outstanding otherwise I would give a ZERO STAR RATING. Today, I took my new puppy in for shots, and parked in the parking lot and followed the instructions on the sign and called in and listened to a long voice message...when no one came out and my appointment time was near I knocked on the locked door. Did I mention that it was raining...A front desk person came out and handed me a clipboard and pen and said fill out the document and we will come and let you in in a few minutes and left me locked outside again....IN THE COLD RAIN WITH NO COVER!!!! After a few minutes I knocked on the door again...she came and took the clipboard AND WAS ABOUT TO LOCK ME OUT AGAIN IN THE RAIN!!!!! I said, Can't I come inside out of the rain? She went back inside to check if it was OK. FINALLY CAME AND LET ME IN THE DOOR CUBICLE.. BY THIS TIME I WAS COLD AND RAINSOAKED AS WAS MY PUPPY. There was no one else in the waiting area inside so I don't know why it was SO IMPORTANT to leave me and the puppy standing outside in the COLD RAIN.THE FRONT DESK STAFF ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!! NO COMMON SENSE WHATSOEVER!!!!!!

Excellent & Outstanding experience from the reachable front desk staff & App for Appt scheduling, the friendly/hygienic introductory staff upon drop-off, quick, detailed, compassionate phone conversation with the actual Veterinarian, and detailed breakdown of the best service possible with fair & reasonable prices! Our little Reeso was in good & trustworthy hands as we can tell with his daily improvement since his return to us!!! Can't believe they're the only place in Taos accepting emergency and/or new clients...yet no worries ~ due to their full staff of good hearts & professionalism

I wouldn't even give this place one star but there's no option for zero. As a local you wish such different results from your vet, not this place! The vets are awful human beings that make you feel stupid and talk to you like you're an idiot. front desk is filled with little brats who have no compassion for animals. I was told by the vet on Saturday to call on Monday for an appointment because my dog killed a skunk and may have Been bit and is two months behind on rabies booster/vaccines because of COVID, when I called she told me that's not an important matter and I could be seen in September! It's august 2nd! If this is the case my dog could be dead by then. (Not import!?!?) These people are terrible! Lack of respect and dignity. I've noticed this in the past when taking my dogs in prior but given it's such a small town I didn't have a choice.

This is the second time I have been treated unbelievably rude by the front desk people. I realize this is COVID time, but the woman who came out to the car to get my pet was beyond rude..almost to the point I called the vet inside and said bring my cat back. I'll drive to Espanola. I shall never go back and x/ferring my pets' records to the other Taos vet after 15 years.

These folks make you feel your fur baby is the only one in the world! Super accommodating! My cats appt needed rescheduling 3 times, and the front office staff was nothing but professional and compassionate.

Incompetent staff member gave us hope to wait just over a week to bring our hardworking dog to receive help for a bone and muscle injury. On the day she told us to call for the emergency appointment, the same staff member said they would not see our dog and we are welcome to come in another week to meet with a vet but receive no treatment- but beginning a treatment plan. In the meantime, the dog became so depressed he had to be greatly judged to eat. I took a day off work, my partner came 500 miles for the appointment and now we are driving to Colorado with him to competent vet staff who understands. I would highly recommend the drive to Alpine Valley animal hospital over this vet where the receptionist lied and am sorry but who says "I don't know nothing about that"... *anything* please speak proper English or it just reeks of incompetence. Am so upset and scare for our dog now and don't put yourself or your animal in that position. Go to Alpine Valley in ALamosa and get good help

The front desk is rude. This is an animal hospital. Keep the rude, selfish humans at the DMV.
