My in-laws love it here, they live here and we came to stay. We stayed in the Woodland room, it was perfect. The room was cleaner than any hotel I have ever stayed in and I am from the East Coast. It was cleaner then Disney hotel rooms. The room had a wonderful air conditioner that kept us cool during the day when it did get hot. The room was fully stocked with anything we would need for a week (never even needed to ask staff for anything). We had a full kitchen with pots and pans and all the cooking equipment you would need to cook for the week and the bathroom was stocked with more than enough towels for four people and halfway through. They even asked us if we needed more. The area is breathtaking! The trails are amazing. The staff, all polite and friendly and willing to help. I love that the staff even wanted to get to know you and know where you’re from and just know about you because it made me feel so comfortable and like I was at home. Everyone waved when you went by, and always had a smile. I have no complaints and while there’s not a ton for young kids to do (we have an 11 month old and a 9 year old), we were also visiting grandparents so we found things to do. The deer come right to you and the museum was so neat to walk through and read the history of the place. We will definitely come back, my husband more often just because he is seeing his parents but we can’t wait to visit next year as a family. Anyone looking for a gorgeous, rustic getaway to reset and enjoy nature this is the place to go. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Tremendous place with really interesting history. Their museum in the lodge is great and their library really extensive. Only downside is the road in, the washboard is really rough on an RV and it really shakes things up. The ATV trails from the location are really good and interesting with lots of

Things change often here. Great place to visit for a bit. Living different story after a while. Wifi reaches about 20 yards.

This place was great. A hidden gem. We will definitely be returning as sxs trails were abundant and easy to get to. The dear roaming was a nice touch. The permanent residents were very welcoming.

Just heard about this beautiful place to rest and relax with so many accomodations and not too far away from the city that sounded perfect for me and my family to start anew lifestyle. Well big mistake! First I was lost and couldn’t find any of the staff but one person who said she the president of something I could not see why she insisted saying so while she yanked my car door open to “see what she she got her” which startled me and made me leave without even telling her why I was there! Very rude! Where were all the friendly staff that is advertised ? No thank you!

Never stayed in the room, we have a lease space in burro, we love it . It's in the forest nice and cool in the summer. We keep our 30 ft trailer there year round. Great place to escape to.

Way to make a paying customer feel like an outcast and paranoid of doing the wrong thing constantly. What's next? You gonna yell at me cause someone who lives here doesn't want me to use the sink you said was okay to use? Don't waste your money, especially if you have a dog.Don is a cool bro though.

Beware of Ladies Pool Party!!! (2pm Tuesday every week)Staff 5 stars, Don Michael 5 stars, facilities 5 stars, beautiful surroundings 5 stars. Front office lady 3 stars. Ladies at ladies pool night 0 stars. My husband and I and our 2 dogs visited here for a few days to rest up from our hiking travels and make some much needed hiking dog booties. It really is a beautiful place with good facilities, but we got fussed at for something which we obtained permission to do beforehand. And then got punished for it.Allow me to explain. We paid for a non-electric tent site for a few nights. We made sure with the front desk that it was ok to use our sewing machine at the activity center where there is electricity and wifi (if it wasn't ok we would've upgraded to an electric site to sew at our camp spot). We were sewing happily along with our dogs with us on the porch, no one seemed to have any problems with us. Until we were cleaning up and moving stuff back to our tent. The ladies at pool night complained to the front desk and then the front desk made a big deal about our stuff being everywhere and dogs on the porch and the activity center is only for "people to sit and use their phones and stuff." Which is what we were doing. The next day we were exiled to the corral, which was nicely shaded with electricity, but no wifi, which we needed. You couldn't see us in there, and normally you can't bring dogs in, but management allowed it to keep the peace. It makes sense to ask us to consolidate our stuff to 1 table, I agree with that. But no dogs on the porch outside?! And then to be kicked off the porch because we're working on a sewing project? That's ridiculous! We just wanted to sit on the porch, and use wifi and electricity.I think what really happened is management was trying to cater to the higher-paying customers, who are elitist poopie heads who didn't want us around. We felt like we weren't welcome. It's an RV park, not the Ritz. Also, leash your 13-year-old dog cuz deer might chase her? LMAO ? We'll put a leash on, but not for deer. Also also, the CDT hikers that come through spread their stuff all over the porch and leave their gear to go shower, that's ok cuz no elitist poopie heads were there to complain.

Long 7 miles on washboard road. Wouldn't want to take our RV down it. Interesting area and history. Saw several deer in the campground.
