As a local, this place was amazing when it first opened. I've noticed a steady decline in customer service, unfortunately VC is not the only business in town hurting in this department. First of, the staff behind the counter treat you like their doing you a favor. The food which was my favorite is getting cheap, the flautas aren't blue corn anymore and no garnish! Also, no cucumber water, the place is also dirty. It was the little things that made his place special. I understand a lot of it it this entitled generation, when I was a teenager I respected my elders and feared getting fired. Not the case anymore.

The movie theatre was great good beer good food. My son and I were in theatre 10 during movie my 9 year old needed restroom I told him I’ll race you to the bathroom so we don’t miss the movie . As we were running down the hall there was a man standing there with a brown hat in 30s clothes I told my son to run around him I thought something looked off about him we used the restroom to come out and see no one there. Is this a ghost we saw maybe someone coming from a 1930s party . It was interesting interaction

I’m so sad I was really excited to see the new Beatleguse movie a few weeks ago and on a whim we entered after purchasing ice cream cones from La Lecheria next door. We were 3/4 finished with our ice cream cones and went up to the cashier to purchase tickets and while one cashier was about to sell us the tickets a guy behind him said “I hate to be that guy but you can’t be in here with outside food”. And walked away with no conversation and the cashier looked confused and then would not sell us tickets. We were literally almost finished and we’re about to buy popcorn and snacks and tickets… but I have to say it was the WORST customers service I’ve ever had in this town I grew up in. I just turned to my partner and said “ok I guess let’s go home and watch it on Amazon when it comes out. “
This is not the first time the customer service was bad but some other visits the cashiers just seem rude and listless, no eye contact or smiles and usually carrying on a conversation with a coworker while waiting on you. violet crown used to be our go to PM food place since it is open til 10 but even the food in the evenings has not tasted fresh. So that was the last time we will be going to violet crown sadly. To justify spending $80+ every time we’ve gone there we expect more.
Guy behind the counter could have phrased the no outside food request differently, like, “ hey I’m so sorry we can’t allow outside food in the theatre but if you finish that last bite we can let you in no problem !” I don’t know but the staff needs some serious customer service training and maybe the cooks need a refresher as well.

This is the only place to watch a movie in Santa Fe. Free underground parking for 4 hours with ticket purchase. They have amazing food options and a great beer and wine selection. I particularly love their sausage and green chile pizza!

I used to really enjoy going to the Violet Crown but the past two times I went there I was disappointed. About four weeks ago I went there and stood at the concessions counter and waited for almost six minutes to be attended to, while looking straight at the three young employees talking to eachother while looking at me and ignoring me. I had to ask them to assist me to get a drink and popcorn. The movie theater had trash in it. The second time, and the last time I'll go there, there was no one attending the concessions station and nobody attending the bar. Again, the movie theater was dirty and had sticky floors and armrests.

Haven't tried the food yet but it's a perfectly good movie theatre. I like that they show foreign films and older films too.

This place was amazing when they first opened, that is not the situation now. Once again a terrible experience due to the management at Violet Crown. It’s so run down & the staff is rude. Out of popcorn one night and sodas the next. Someone PLEASE give this awesome venue some TLC!

Huge Place To Relax At..Watch A Movie..Sit At A Bar..Upstairs..Downstairs Movies To Watch..The Popcorn Was Okay..Alot Of Butter Is Added..Soda Maxhines Were Down..Soda Was Sold By The Can..Hopefully The Next Time We Come Its Fixed..But Other Then That It Was Nice..We Would Go Again..

a super nice place to hang out for a drink and a meal and then go to the movies. you are permitted to bring meal and drink with you into the theater if you prefer. most people do not do this however probably bc it makes a bit of noise and draws attention to yourself. the place is modern and relatively new so the theater rooms are very nice. it's a lot of fun to go there. i highly recommend.
