I wouldn't even give this place 1 star if I didn't have to. We stopped out in the middle of nowhere to fill our car up with gas and to pick up several items that we needed. After filling up our car we went inside to make our purchases and the lady behind the counter wouldn't even let us use the restroom but more than that, she was absolutely rude about it.

5/5 solely for the great wine selection. They actually sell organic, sustainable wines! If you need wine, this is your spot.I cannot comment on anything other than the wine and candy bar selection. Both good!

Dirty place with very dirty looking employees who are always depressed and rude. Likely because of envy and hate, as they seem to be nicer to the lowlifes/trash that come in but NOT so much to those who patron the place regularly (like neighbors that are not broke/drive nice cars, etc). I get it, life isn't fair. It isn't! But are you not in business to MAKE MONEY?? Get smarter-- retrain the smelly guy behind the register for crying out loud. And never EVER use the filthy, nasty bathroom in this mini mart-- ever!! Ew!

Dora at Night is the BEST CASHIER! Only when she is working is there whip cream for the best convenience store coffee in town. The coffee station is ALWAYS clean, the coffee is ALWAYS fresh and if its not she'll make a brand new pot! Dora is so nice to every customer that goes into Shell that I've seen and because of the wonderful treatment I got, it is now my NEW FAVORITE place to stop to fuel up, caffeine up and get where I'm going in a flash! Dora should be recognized for her dedication, hard work and cheerful personality!!!! Thank you DORA!!!!!!

This should be $$$$$. It is extremely expensive to pick up anything here. It is your only alternative to driving 10 miles to town, though if you need an item or two. The selection is not bad. No fresh fruit.

OK, so I am having breakfast up the road. Keep in mind, I am in the middle of nowhere (South of Santa Fe on Hwy 14)... I strike up a conversation with a couple of people who seem to know what's what and they tell me the best tamales can be had at the Lone Butte General Store... Now, I am not one to pooh pooh a great tamale - especially in New Mexico. However, when I pull into the Shell gas station, I seriously had my doubts. Here? Really? So, I go in to the mini mart and see all the usual suspects... cheetos, beer, smokes, etc... I had to ask if they had tamales to which the nice gent behind the counter pointed to the back. I had to look twice but next to the dried out egg roll in the warmer I spotted a chaffing dish and small sign. Tamales $1.79. I opened the lid to a Hallelujah chorus of steam rising to the heavens. I selected two tamale parcels and a To Go container (remember, I had just come from breakfast.) At the very first sign of my ebbing tide of fullness from my earlier huevos rancheros, I unwrapped the still warm tamales and had, what I consider, two of the penultimate tamales of my life. These were tasty mo'fo's! I'm just sayin...
