I love Poetic Threads-the ambiance, the selection and the owners, Marisa and Mansoor. They offer one of a kind pieces in clothing, jewelry, rugs, home decor and their specially-designed clothing by Marisa that are made by artisans in South and Central Asia. The shop evokes the sense of a wonderful bazaar with piles of rugs, beautiful scarves, textiles and clothing decorating the walls and cases of jewelry that you feel must have some wonderful backstory. Everytime I go I find cozy little nooks of treasures that I didn't see before. Please allow a lot of time to explore the shop (I never allow enough time though I tell everyone else to do that!) Marisa and Mansoor are very knowledgeable-they work directly with the artisans and can tell you about a technique or handcraft that went into the making of the piece you are looking at. Each piece is timeless in styling. And you are supporting an artisan with your purchase. Poetic Threads is definitely a gem!

The owner Mansoor was extremely gracious and knowledgeable, we were just window shopping at the local artists area, and the most unique items... from sculpture, artwork, jewelry, to handmade embroidered works of art. Supporting efforts to beat Exploitation and Poverty...Poetic threads is definitely a gem in Santa Fe! (107 Don Gasper). Www.meenaMahal.com

The clothing here — so unique and beautiful! If it wasn’t for my husband waiting outside on the sidewalk I would have stayed an hour. Truly one of a kind place!

This store is profiting off Central Asian and Arabic cultures. It is disappointing.

If you are local or just visiting Santa Fe, I encourage anyone with an appreciation for kindness and beauty to visit this lovely unique store. The owner has curated with passion and attention to detail handmade apparel and jewelry. I purchased a hand-embroidered silk chiffon over-blouse that is unlike anything I’ve seen (I’m from the East Coast and have shopped in New York City and Brooklyn). Anyway... I am not one to write reviews but the owner was so kind and thoughtful — and has survived this tough pandemic. Please stop in and support this worthy, beautiful store!

I was attracted by the quote from Rumi painted on the stairs and the beautifully embroidered tops. II walked up the stairs, into the store and I made a friend. The embroidery is just beautiful, the fabrics are mostly natural, the prices are very fair. Shah is the owner designer who travels to Afghanistan and Pakistan where the clothes are made by artisans and women's cooperatives. He works with foundations which empower women and promote quality craftsmanship. He is a delightful young man with a good heart. I bought a beautiful top and learned that the embroidery designs are thousands of years old. Just amazing! I felt good about buying the tunic and I know I will feel great wearing it! Definitely hope to buy more items in the future.
