Amazing bookstore with a wide selection- it is somewhat chaotically organized. It’s like exploring a fantastic collection of books. If you love books this is the place to be.

One of the most original and eclectic book stores I have ever been to. Found books I have never seen anywhere else and will gladly come back again when I get the chance. 30000% love the feel of the store. A beautifully chaotic bookstore where you can find nuggets of books to your liking. Customer service was a solid 10. No problems and helpful!

Every book lover should visit this store at least once. There are plenty of books easily accessible on the shelves, but thousands more stacked in piles, some higher than my head. Last time I was there, two store employees were victims of separate pile falls. I'm not sure how the piles work from a business standpoint. I saw some books I wanted to buy, but they were buried so far under their pile that I didn't dare to pull them out. Nonetheless, there are plenty of discoveries to be made on the regular shelves. Op.cit is an experience, like Meow Wolf. (I was tempted to give op.cit only three stars, but the other day I guiltily grabbed an obscure novel off the "free books" table in front of the store, and it turned out to be a terrific read.)

A fantastic bookshop. It was like going into an old castle with treasure everywhere. Books are piled on top of each other, sometimes three rows deep. You have to go digging to find things, but that's part of the appeal. A wonderful place!

This place has soooo many books but it is not at all organized and really hard to find anything. It's actually stressful being in the shop because of the crazy disorganization.

It's a great place to get lost in. A lot of quality, and sometimes rare books with a helpful, friendly staff.

Reminiscent of the bookstores of my youth in NYC, this place is a cavern for browsers, bibliophiles and anyone with a curious nature and a sense of adventure. It's not for claustrophobes, those who must have order or anyone with dust allergies. Go! Have fun!

I dknt like leaving bad reviews but since this city is getting worse by the day, here we go. I went in the first time ever to order a book I was having a hard time getting. I told them the title and they looked at me with disgust. I gave all my info. Never received one call about it actually being ordered. I stopped by several times to encounter the same judgment. Months and nothing. Imagine having all those books and all that knowledge and still treat people the way you do. Don't try to respond to me and say, sorry you had a bad experience and to call you. No thanks. ??

Best bookstore in northern NMIf they dont have it, they can get it to you faster than you'll get it online. If you sort of know what you want their recommendations are top tier.

A used and new bookstore inside the DeVargas Center. Books are piled on each other in stacks which you can meander through. Books are organized by section, and there's a children's and YA section if patrons bring their children with them. Most of the books are used and a decent price. You can't go looking for something specific, though that's half the fun to wander and see what you'll find. There is this Santa Fe location, then one located in Taos. There were many boxes being sent up to the Taos location which were blocking small alcoves in the store. If I had a suggestion, it would be for that work to be done in the back so customers can access books; I was not able to enter the alcove I wanted to because of shipping boxes. Overall, an eclectic local bookstore that is fun to browse, if cluttered.

Definitely a bit of a chaotic mess but as long as you're the type to dig, it's a lot of fun. My biggest complaint would be a lot of the books are overpriced for being old used books that clearly sit for awhile. Overall I love this place!

The staff were awesome! You could easily spend hours in here. Great selection of books on art, including regional art & architecture, plants, geology, and an impressive assortment of books on world religions. I found a book on women painters of the Southwest and a really beautiful hardcover on Tantra.
