I took my car to this place because it was breaking down in front of it. I was very clear with them that I needed it fixed ASAP and they promised me a diagnosis by Monday or Tuesday. I called Monday to check on the status and was never able to reach the owner Ari. I called back Tuesday to try and check the status and was told the same thing that the owner would be calling me back which he did not. I called back again at the end of the day requesting that someone just tell me the diagnosis and they would not. I showed up in person trying to get information as to what was wrong with the car and what parts would need to be ordered and was again told only the owner could give me that information. I never ever managed to speak to the owner but started receiving text messages from him claiming he refused to work on my car and still wouldn't tell me the diagnosis without paying $160 which could only be in cash or personal check not credit card. He then claimed I had until the next morning to pick it up or I would be charged storage fees. Not sure if it was lies or miscommunication from the secretary or man who checked me in the week previous but totally lost a week of time where nothing was done on the car and caused complete and utter frustration. Never in my life have I had my vehicle hijacked with claims of money having to be paid with no work being done. I had to contact the police department and threatened showing up with police to even get my car back or he was claiming he wouldn't release it to the towing company. Claiming I could only pay with cash or personal check seems super shady and scammy. I definitely do not recommend this Auto Care shop.

Even if they were telling the truth, which looks to not be the case, they failed to communicate an increase of $1400 on the job and eventually dropped it. So use extreme caution with these folks.

If there was an option to not even leave a star, I totally would, spent over four grand to get my ford escape, car fixed and it wasn’t even fixed… ended up having to just go and trade my car and I really wish I did that the first first place but that much money down the drain. Single mother with a job to get to and they did keep my car for over a month, it was so depressing and stressful and they kept saying I had to put more money in. Not even a day of having it back I had to go back! Definitely had the worst experience and they left my car a mess with tools. Also had a crack on my windshield! They did pay for the damage but once again having to take my car to another place to get fixed!

While traveling through New Mexico on a vacation pulling our fifth wheel RV, the "check engine" light came on in my Chevy Duramax. We arrived at our RV park destination in Santa Fe on a weekend. The park maintenance person was able to use his code reader to determine that the alert was for a turbo vane position sensor. The park was also able to provide a couple of recommended repair shops. I chose Master Tech Auto Repair. Early Monday morning I drove to the shop and waited for it to open. Annie, the receptionist, opened up and took my information and the truck problem. She soon told me that Ari, the owner, said that they could work my truck into the schedule. What a relief, as we were scheduled to depart on Wednesday to Texas where we had another RV Park reservation. Santiago used a code reader to confirm the problem. The truck repair was completed late Tuesday. Ari met with me for about 20 minutes to go over every detail on the repair list including those items that were not critical but should be done when I returned home. He even recommended specific parts to be installed that were superior in his experience. I have never had that kind of attention to my vehicle ever. Amy completed the service transaction. Everyone I met at the shop was cordial and cared about helping a visitor that was just passing through. I am so impressed with this shop and their service. If I lived in Santa Fe this would be my "go to" shop for all of my vehicles maintenance and repair needs. Many thanks to the crew at Master Tech Auto Repair in Santa Fe NM.

I've taken my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe to Master Tech for several years and they've always done a wonderful job. They keep the most detailed service notes on my car I've ever seen anywhere. Ari, the owner, usually calls personally to go over my service, and Amy, who runs the front desk, is extremely personable and helpful. They do keep the car longer than some other shops but I see that as what it takes to do the job right. I am leaving Santa Fe and am genuinely sad to be saying goodbye to the reliability and honesty I could always count on from Master Tech.

Amy and Ari were great. We’re from Colorado and broke down South of Santa Fe. We had the car towed to the shop and Ari was able to diagnose the problem and repair it (loose hose to the turbo). When he test drove it he found another issue when the car accelerated. We’ve had this issue since we purchased it. He replaced a solenoid and the car runs great now. Great service and quality repair work.Services: General repairs & maintenance
