Today I had an acupuncture appt with Dr Freeman. I arrived holding my stiffed neck dachshund. A technician asked to take him back and I asked to go with him. She said she would ask the vet. Another girl came out shortly after to put us in a room then the office manager walked in and told me she was going to release us and they couldn't care for us. I'm sitting there holding my dog who's whimpering in pain. I'm completely in shock from what this manager was telling me letting us go in this type of situation. I am astonished at the unprofessionally way this office manager provided this information at this crucial time. All I did was asked to go in with my pet as I had gone before. This office manager said the Vet sent her and I don't believe her. I feel she lied for whatever reason. We left super disappointed, hurt & ABANDONED. I don't know what veterinarian clinic would ever do this type of thing to anyone especially at these rough times in this life. pets support us all and they love us unconditionally. My pet is in severe pain needing acupuncture and the office manager had the guts to do this. Shame on you and karma is Real. I would not recommend this place to anyone ever

My 12.5 y/o pet has been a long time patient at Gruda Veterinary Hospital from 2015 to June 2024 and terminated due to negligent care by DVM Freeman (9 years and prompt and timely payment for all services). I want to acknowledge Meg @ front desk, Dr Stanky (surgeon) and Dr Gonzales (DVM) for their professionalism and compassion towards my beloved pet. The same cannot be said for a front desk staff and a practitioner at Gruda! Vet Freeman is not a kind or gentle vet and is very angry about her work schedule, which she complained to me about when my pet was in distress and I was worried and uncertain what to do. Do not trust her or leave your pet in her care. You should record visits with this vet. She will not permit you to call your family to attend telephonically during the exams. Multiple Gruda techs witnessed vet Freeman's rude behavior but may be fearful for their jobs if they say anything. She will project her anger on you in her clinical notes and misrepresent the truth. I have never encountered a vet with such a sour bedside manner. My pet has cancer that was diagnosed by VCA Speciality and Referral Hospital in Albuquerque by a very qualified Internal Medicine DVM. Thank God I sought a second opinion from VCA Specialists in Albuquerque last fall. I spent $800 at Gruda for incompetence and un-compassionate, low quality care in June 2024 by Dr Freeman. Today a front desk staff scolded me at the front counter for a charge NOT billed by Dr Freeman on 6/13/2024. I told her I had already replied to a voice message from Gruda regarding the balance on 6/14/2024 and I asked the staff to bill the card in file. I have verification of my return call to Gruda. I feel the front desk staff put profit ahead of patient care. I repeated 3 times that my pet who is 12.5 y/o with a rare and aggressive form of cancer had not eaten in 2 days!!! I have sought care at another practice in the greater Santa Fe area as my pet cannot make the trips to be treated VCA Specialists in Albuquerque. VCA Oncology and Internal Medicine specialists and support staff provided EXCELLENT care and follow-up. My pet required health maintenance and comfort that was not provided by Dr Freeman at Gruda. I read a negative and unsettling review from a year ago about Dr Freeman who continues to practice at Gruda! I have to agree with that pet owner! My pet has not been the same since vet Freenan (will no longer distinguish her as Dr) laid hands on him and treated him on 6/10/2024! She was rude/condescending and indifferent and aloof towards my precious pet. He suffered under Freeman's care and had severe side effects from treatment with Fentanyl drip, she supposed he was having a stroke then said she was was not sure what was happening to my 12.5 y/o pet with cancer! I have to say Meg got my pet in on an emergency basis on 6/10/2024 at 4:30pm. She took him to the back as soon as we walked into the lobby. I wish she was a DVM or that Dr Gonzales had been available and not vet Freeman!!

Skills of DVM doctors mixed. No euthanasia services. Not very sympathetic to owners of sick dogs.

This is a quick note to see they are not and will not see new patient or even clients who have seen Gruda before. Abrasive manager confirmed this and says people who live in Santa Fe should go to Albuquerque if you don't want botched vet experience. That's abusive that with 9 vets to turn people away and make animals sit around for over 3 hours in car/vet. What about geriatric animals who need priority. Maybe this isn't a good caring vet after all. Luckily I don't have to live in SF. This is huge problem when I can't have a doctor for my animal let alone myself. Santa Fe used to be a forgiving place for people and animals. No more. Will not live here again.

Dr. Kim Freeman performed a "minor operation" on my little dog, and instead of the kind, affectionate and happy dog I entrusted to her she gave me back a completely hysterical dog. The hysteria persisted for nearly a year before my darling friend passed away. He could not be touched anymore, he could not be walked anymore as that required putting on a leash and being touched on the head which he could not tolerate at all. My best friend was horribly altered forever. Gruda vet would not tell me what happened, only that my dog woke up during the operation. But what happened during that operation, no one would say. Was he mishandled? Why didn't she stop the operation until he was calm? My little friend suffered unimaginably as did I watching him in torment each day.

Gruda and team are amazing. We have been coming to them for almost a decade. Multiple dogs and cats. Always the best. Not just compassionate but practicing good medicine with up to date evidence based medicine. Our Scottsdale vet specialist (cardiologist and dermatologist) validate their excellent care. I highly recommend bringing your babies to this practice. ONLY COMMENT- need at 24/7 emergency vet in santa fe!!

The best vets in northern NM. We have had great care for all of our animals here. My dog who is my best friend is still alive thanks to Dr. Jones. I am forever grateful for caring, skilled veterinarians.

Was a customer for ten years. Had my cat in for annuals 2018. Tried to get an appointment in 2020 when the cat was ill, but was told they couldn't see me because of the pandemic. Tried to get an appointment in 2021, told me it would be months before they could see the cat. Tried today and was told, rudely, that because they hadn't seen my cat in four years I was now considered a new patient and they weren't accepting new patients!! Despite my trying to get in to see them! After a relationship of a decade through several different animals I'm appalled at Gruda.

New to town. Recommended by neighbor. Have a dog with a painful ear infection that needs to be treated. Waited on hold for nearly 10 minutes only to be told that they aren't taking new patients.

I was initially really happy at this vet. My 9 year old dog had another flare up from her autoimmune disease and we followed their suggested treatment but it didn't solve the issue. They strongly suggested an expensive biopsy. I've already been down the road of multiple tests and nothing conclusive was found. We had a treatment plan that worked for her from her previous vet (out of state)...I don't understand why they need to re-test and try to come up with new treatment if what was done before was working. My husband also tried to talk to the staff at the vet and we got absolutely nowhere. There are great things about this vet's office, their initial responsiveness and care was appreciated. The vet techs are awesome and I enjoyed interacting with them. However, I will be switching vets because I think the care of my animal should be a collaborative effort with the vet. I have already spent over $5k (in another state) to help my dog.....biopsies and continued (expensive) testing is not helpful. Keeping her comfortable and allowing her to live the best version of the rest of her life is what we want. Unfortunately Gruda Vet seems to want test after test after test.....and then to make you feel guilty when a budget comes up. I hope other people have a better experience, but we are done spending money there.

Love Gruda Vet. They took care of my 18 pound Havanese dog who had a benign growth on his nose. I also appreciate that they take appointments, instead of having to be a walk-in like another big vet clinic in town. The price is also a lot more reasonable. And if you want to order your Rx food from Chewys.com, Gruda responds quickly to the inquiry from Chewys and the delivery comes very quickly, as Gruda does not sell Vet Rx food themselves.
