I have been teaching and performing since 1978, and have a passion for the Guitar and music for the guitar. One of the most satisfying aspects of my life is to bring to students great skills to enjoy the Guitar in many styles. Even after all these years the excitement I help to create fills my soul' My ongoing studies took me from the University of Michigan to the Guitar Dept. of Eastern Michigan University, where as a performance major in classical guitar, he began his formal studies. At the same time he studied jazz guitar with Johnny Smith and also studied privately with jazz guitarist Bruce Dunlap. In 1978 I became a staff member of the Clarkston Conservatory of Music as a guitar instructor , while enrolled as a double major in classical and jazz guitar at Oakland University. In 1980 I moved to Tempe, Arizona, to study classical guitar at Arizona State University with Frank Koonce, whose mutual interest in Baroque music fulfilled my educational years, but the study of the Guitar, and the skills to communicate learning to others had just begun. I have resided in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1984, where he , mentors students, studying, performing, and teaching classical and jazz guitar.
