Won't find a more intelligent, knowledgeable person when it comes to cameras. But like the name says- mostly film cameras, darkroom supplies and accessories. Do everyone a favor and call first to see if they have what you're looking for. If you bought from a big box store, don't expect to find much of what you need, unless you need accessories like a bag or lights etc. if you want to learn about film, home dark room then this is your spot. Go spend money here instead of Walmart or Target. Support local and take advantage of pre-owned gear you know is backed by a pro. You won't regret it.

My experience with Camera and Darkroom has been incredible. I had recently bought a film camera at a garage sale and found this store which sold film. Mike was incredible, and taught me the differences between the types of films they had, gave me an incredible amount of information on my camera so I could work it better, and developed my film once I was done with it, which turned out amazing. I also bought a Canon AE-1, which Mike once again gave me a lesson on to make sure I fully understood what I was buying. This is truly a great store with a great manager who knows what hes talking about and will explain it to you.

Had a great and lengthy conversation with the gentleman here today. It was such a pleasure to buy a used camera in person again, rather than on the internet. The guy had practical knowledge, and helped me decide to buy something different because it was better for my particular needs. Very happy. Thank you guys.Keep small camera stores alive!

The product offered is fine—they made a competent print from an old photograph. The service, however, was laced with rude, arrogant, and holier-than-thou attitude. You decide what's important to you, but I won't be going back, no matter what quality the product. I'd rather use cookie-cutter service at Walmart, and I really don't like Walmart.

Heads-up: I went there to get my camera sensor cleaned, and they told me they don't do it and would have to go to a place in Albuquerque for that.

Super friendly camera shop in Santa Fe. They send film to Albuquerque for developing but the turnaround is reasonable considering it isn’t done on site. Definitely support them if you can!

I went in to buy a Haze 2A filter and a lens hood. When I go home, I discovered that the filter he gave me was not what I asked for and I already have what he gave me. I went back the next business day to return the filter as I had ordered one online the same day that I bought the two items. He refused to issue a refund but after some argument he offered in-store credit. I declined that offer as I can't imagine that I would ever buy anything there again. So he lost a customer and earned a crappy review for $15 bucks. This guy must be an idiot! I will shop at The Camera Shop of Santa Fe from now on.

Lacking in basic darkroom supplies and offer poor amateur advice as a consolation. Not worth the time of even stopping in.

Yes, they are terribly overpriced. I paid $13 for a package of button batteries. Yes, the woman could be nicer considering it's a business and they ought to want customers to return. But in the end, I got what I needed. She knew to check the batteries on a 1980's camera I was unfamiliar with instead of just shipping it down to Albuquerque which would have cost me more money and time. Will I go back? Yes. The location is convenient even if the customer service lacks a decent bedside manner.
