I visited this location on Nov. 4 th (Santa Fe , NM) withmy daughter. She purchased a couch for $1000 and paid cash. She told them she would pick it up the next day .When she went to pick it up after borrowing a truck from a friend, they could only find half of it!!!She told them she would be back on Tuesday for the other half. She had rented a U-Haul to move other things to a house she was moving into and when she went to pick it up with the UHaul, they still couldn’t find the other half!!!! She called again on Sunday and she was told it was ready to pick up but when they checked right before they were going to pick it up, she was told by someone else that it was not there! The issue is finally resolved on Nov 13. My daughter spent countless hours of her time, the time of people who are willing to help her, not to mention the money, spent on gas, and going back-and-forth, only to be told different things by different people.I met the manager and our initial visit and mentioned to her how impressed I was with the appearance of the store and how well it was organized. She asked me to please write a review because most people only write a review when they’re pissed I had started to write a glowing review before all of this happened. Unfortunately, now I am writing a review, because I am pissed at the poor organization and lack of being able to find the other half of a couch. Seriously that was just a fiasco. I am also blown away with the fact that she was not offered any kind of compensation, or anything for the total incompetence of this business!!!UPDATESusan called and made things right with my daughter by giving her a 20% refund on her purchase. Also 20% off rug purchase. Thank you Susan!

I'm giving Big Lots of 3 because they advertise that they would beat any lower prices and honestly when I show them some lower prices they really did everything they could to avoid meeting that price and so I still shop there but I was really not happy with the way they handled that. Still a tried and true location for some of my basic needs. I got a great deal on a three pack of reading glasses and that was a blessing for me.

I was very disappointed with the manager, Susan. My parents like to go and shop at Big Lots in Santa Fe. This time going to Santa Fe my mom wanted to window shop for a cazebo that would fit over her jacuzzi. She liked this one cazebo made by Broyhill. When enough money was acquired. Me and my sister went in my mom's place to help my dad buy this cazebo. When arriving to Big Lots my dad went to talk to Susan. I went to look at the cazebo, it was nice quality. I went back to the furniture area where my dad seemed like he was or already had talked to Susan. But it seemed like she was helping another customer beforehand. So Susan was just busy.My father also wanted to buy a mattress. That was taken care of because a gentleman had already started wheeling a mattress from the warehouse side. My father was never able to get a straight answer from Susan about the Cazebo. Susan told my dad the Broyhill Cazebo was a discontinued item. She then continues to work on the set up of some sort or project that she was working on with another team member. My father asked if he could buy the model that was out in the show room. She mentioned for him to come back Friday in the morning to purchase it. My dad does that travel.. Goes back to Santa Fe Friday morning and guess what happened. The item was sold on Thursday. What a bummer. Does this mean Susan just thought maybe she would just say this lie to get this man off of her back so she can finish her project. Whatever it was I did not appreciate how her work ethics are. I will be contacting her corporate office regarding this issue. I do not think this was appropriate on her part. Especially how she is a manager too.... She made the company look bad and lost out on my parents business.

It's like walking back in time. There aren't many employees to help you. They sell some good stuff. However, let's say you wanna buy furniture there really wasn't anybody there to help you out, which can be discouraging for some folk.

They have some good bargains. The manager is great. The workers are un-trained. One cashier battlefield that was actually the supervisor went ghetto on me because he did not know how to do a return and said it was my fault that. I didn't catch the mistake when I bought the item. Another time the the associate was very unfriendly and very stressed out about a cartload items to check out and then even more stressed out when there. Was another full cart behind me. Manager had to tell him to wipe his nose.
