I just moved here.My mom surprised mailed me a Christmas gift that was supposed to arrive on at my door 12/22/2023. It never arrived and I was like it’s okay, our landlord never put the number of our apartment and my mom didn’t know that yet. I thought to myself it has to be at the postal office or maybe it was sent back to where my mom ordered it. Fast forward to 12/29/2023. I go to the postal office to open a PO Box and ask for my package. The lady I got was rude and giving attitude the whole time. For the moment my partner and I walked up to her. She wanted our apartment contract as proof of address, that was no problem but she then looked through the contract in less than 10 seconds and got upset at us that she could not find the address. My partner pointed it out to her and she gave us the form to fill out. Before we walked to the side, I told her my mom sent me a package that never arrived at my door, if by any chance they had it there.She did not bother to look, she just said to check the tracking number.I don’t understand how lazy someone can be. To just check.Once my partner and I filled out our application we were helped by another person. And the gentleman was so much more helpful. He right away told us that we have a mail box that is free and we’ll be saving $172 using our mail box instead of the PO Box. All we have to do is come back after the New Year Holiday to pick up our key.I left the postal office upset at the lady but glad we were helped by someone else.Again! Fast forward to this morning. After my mom contacted customer support, the package that was missing was delivered… in the mailbox! The one I don’t have access to till Wednesday.Which is fine, but that it was made me write this review. This lady at the postal office has a simple job and she failed.If she needed my ID, my address, my birth certificate, pictures of proof of who I am! I would have given it to her just to go take a look for a missing package.I’ve had missing packages before and going to the nearest postal office has always been able to hand me a missing package just by taking a look in the back and asking for my ID.

The people who work there are not very nice. Been there twice for things and both times I didn't leave happy because of the way i was treated. They will do zero to help you. They care zero about you. Worst post office I've ever been to.

Monica is so wretched to customers. An elderly man could not hear her asking if he needed any stamps, etc. When he apologized 3 different times about not being able to hear her (she wears a mask)... She YELLED at him... DO YOU NEED ANY STAMPS OR ANYTHING ELSE! She then gave him 20 stamps after he asked for 100 (I heard him while I was waiting in line!). He then asked if that was 100 and she said rudely... That's why I asked if you needed anything else. This is a constant problem. She has no business working at the front desk. Train her better or put her in the back?!? Just a couple suggestions.Sorry Frank... The rest of the staff is very helpful... She just needs some instructions on how to be kind.

I did a Silly Thing: I had Amazon send me a package to my AirBNB here in Ruidoso. I never thought for a moment that the package might be sent by USPS instead of UPS. When Amazon told me the package had been delivered, I realized my mistake. So, I texted the owner of the AirBNB, but he told me that he didn't have a mailbox here at all, because of it being a short-term rental. What to do? I went down to the Post Office on Mechem Drive, and was assisted by a gentleman named Frank. Frank took my information and enlisted the aid of another gentleman whose name I didn't get, but whom Frank called "Boss." Together, the two of them worked to locate my package and have it brought back to the Post Office where I picked it up in due course. What a great example of going "above and beyond" in Customer Service. It meant a lot to me to receive such professional and courteous and effective service. Thank you, Frank and Boss!! (By the way, you'll notice that this is posted under a different name, but it's still me, the fat old guy with the bum leg! Thanks again!)
