Electrical not working correctly, gas fireplaces in bedrooms not working, showers not working. When I complained the lady said "It was all working when I checked It". Very rude and had to raise my voice and got into a yelling match just to get the showers fixed. They were all stopped up per the repair man so how in the hell did she check everything. Not to mention that the thermostat for the gas fireplaces were in pieces so again how was it working and how did she check everything. There were chairs on the patio with big holes in them so you could not use them and the hot tub smelled like an old locker room. Would not recommend staying at one of their rentals and it is such a shame because the view was great at this house. I hope the owners know what place they have watching their investment for them.

We called in Monday after our stay to talk to someone about how dirty the cabin was. We had rented it to stay with friends, and after telling them how much we love hummingbird we were shocked to see how dirty it was. Actual potato chips on the couch. Spilled drinks on the tables. Dirty cups. The coffee maker was atrocious. Soap still left in the master shower. It quickly became a joke everytime we found more food to where I was so embarrassed I had ever said what a good experience we had. I called the office Monday to just talk to someone, and was even more shocked at how much I was blown off. Told I should have called that day instead and now nothing could be done. No sorry, no this is so unusual. Just completely shut down and then hung up on. I get having a bad day and not wanted to deal with a customer who didn’t have a good time, but that level of unprofessionalism was shocking. But maybe that’s just the way this company is now. Also, your review has to be approved on their site of the actual houses, so you are only seeing the positive reviews they allow instead of any negative experiences.

As you can see by the response from the owner, they would rather lie about a customer than actually address their own staff. I never yelled at anyone, and would never. She had nothing to do with the cabin being dirty and is just the person who answered the phone. But this company would rather make up a story to look better about their staff hanging up and leaving a situation unsolved. You can see review after review saying the same thing. Just another red flag to stay away!

Never had a bad experience here, despite reading all of these negative comments. I think people feel a little too entitled these days to voice small complaints, not get the answer they want and then them into huge complaints.

Just filed a BBB complaint seeking a FULL REFUND because a FULL REFUND is what was listed on the vrbo website when we booked the cabin. That's the whole reason I booked! I knew we may need to cancel and I thought how awesome that we'd receive a FULL REFUND in that event... so I cancel, and surprise! We're charged a $75 cancellation fee (even though we were over a month away from the deadline for cancellation.) NOWHERE on the VRBO website does it mention a cancellation fee. NOWHERE on the VRBO website is there a link to the Hummingbird Cabins website where I could have clicked to double check the cancellation policies. No... It's supposedly mentioned in the agreement that I signed (the one they send you AFTER you hit "book" on your trip) and your card has been charged.Thanks a ton for the misleading information and stealing my $75. I'll make sure to double check and make sure that all future properties I reserve are NOT part of Hummingbird Cabins.(Edit to add… their reply mentions it was stated in the agreement I signed.) ? if you’ll read my review above… I said that. The agreement I received AFTER my card was charged. ??♀️ they weren’t going to refund until I reported them to BBB.

Do not stay here! Thousands of acres of land have burned directly around the property, power is down to reach out to the police in an emergency, they've even had lives lost during this devastating wild fire and Hummingbird Cabins have refused to refund a reservation to stay during this time stating they don't want to lose more than they already have. Disgusiting behavior with extreme negligence for the safety of their guests.

Definitely our one and only option for rental when we visit Ruidoso, they have always the cleanest and cozy cabins.

This was our first outdoors adventure. We stayed in the Appletree Cabin for the Thanksgiving holiday. It was the perfect cabin. 3 bedrooms with 3 queen and king beds which was perfect since we took both of our parents. You definitely get that outdoor vibe. You come out the back into a patio with a beautiful view and water running down a creek. Definitely would get this cabin again. 4x4 not needed for this cabin fyi

Crestview cabin. We stayed 6 nights. It was really good! Pros: surprisingly comfy beds, good linens, overall clean, back deck & grill area was great, nice fridge, good bathrooms. Plenty of kitchen-ware. Pots, pans & skillets, waffle iron, slowcooker, i think there was a blender & a mixer. There's a regular coffee pot & k-cup. We cooked every day & there really wasn't anything that wasn't there! The shuffleboard upstairs was a fun thing to have, I had never played. Everything in the house worked - all the tvs, wifi, all good. There's a washer & dryer, I did my laundry so I came home with clean clothes!Great view.Cons: awkward driveway!, but traffic on that street is not bad. Decent "fireplace" but if you're expecting a big cozy fire, it isn't, it's a remote control gas fire, warms the room, so-so to look at.The checkout "chores" are very reasonable, empty the trash & run the dishwasher.Highly recommend!

Our booked cabin had an issue that kept us from staying there. Hummingbird re-booked us in an upgraded cabin and we had a wonderful stay! Thank you! We’ll be back!

Great 2 BR 2B cabin with hot tub, great view. Fully equipped. Huge elk greeted us. Hummingbirds. WD with detergent, DW with pods. Everything clean and welcoming.

A Touch of Santa Fe -Ruidoso needs some cleaning and TLC!There were large pet stains in the master and living room that looked as though they didn’t even try to clean them. The kitchen sinks were dirty especially the sink stoppers. Wish I could attach pictures. There were holes in the blanket. The caulk on the master shower was old with mold and dirt. Yuk!The location was nice and quiet. Are these cabins ever inspected for cleaning standards?

My wife and I stayed in a nice cabin call Touch of Santa Fe. The front entrance inside the cabin had several leaves and other twigs off of the trees. Several dead flies on the counter top. The rest of the cabin was clean! This rental agency is more interested in quantity VS quality. You will have to buy an insurance policy for damages and also give a security deposit of $200 or more. You will have to sign a rental agreement --- 47 different places. (REALLY) I had to ask for my deposit back 3 times and it took over 1 month to get my money. Try Airbnb or VRBO direct and save yourself some pain.

I recently booked a cabin (Big Bear cabin) through Vrbo in Ruidoso, New Mexico, managed by Humming Bird Cabins, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired.Upon arrival at the cabin, we encountered multiple issues that immediately dampened our excitement. Two of the fridges were not working properly, which was a significant inconvenience as we had brought perishable items with us. Despite notifying the cabin management about the problem, they failed to address it promptly, leaving us with limited storage for our food throughout our stay.The troubles did not end there. When we tried to seek assistance from the Humming Bird Cabins' customer service, we were appalled by the lack of professionalism and courtesy displayed. The staff we interacted with were disinterested and dismissive of our concerns, making us feel unheard and undervalued as paying customers. Instead of providing genuine support, they seemed more interested in brushing off our complaints rather than finding a solution to our predicament.The lack of effective customer service from Humming Bird Cabins significantly impacted the overall enjoyment of our vacation. Booking through Vrbo, we expected a certain level of reliability and accountability from the property management company. However, their unprofessional conduct and failure to address basic issues such as faulty fridges made us question the level of care they have for their guests' comfort.A vacation is meant to be a time of relaxation and rejuvenation, but our experience at this cabin left us feeling stressed and frustrated. We regretfully cannot recommend Humming Bird Cabins to future travelers seeking a peaceful getaway in Ruidoso.In conclusion, I advise potential guests to exercise caution when considering a reservation through Humming Bird Cabins. The lack of professionalism and unaddressed issues with the property detract from what should have been an enjoyable and memorable vacation
