Rio Rancho Legacy Church was holding a free skate valentines night. facility was big with a basket ball court. the skates were in good condition but not the most comfy. lots of families and the ice seemed good.

The events the MAC puts on are great and it’s a pretty cool place for community activities, but learn to skate is the first program we’ve attended, and it’s a soup sandwich. There’s no communication from instructors on which class is going out, no designated meeting area beforehand or roll call to ensure they’ve got all the kids. I’ve had to stop every “instructor” on their way out (3 weeks and counting) just to make sure my kid gets with the right class and gets help crossing the ice. It’d be great to see actual planning for this with instructors that aren’t afraid to use their outside voices to rally up their classes. I’d like to sign my kid up again next year, but I’m already having second thoughts because of this experience.

Fun place. We will come back. The front desk gal was rude but the other staff were super nice. Our other concern was in regard of safety (see pics). Many folks almost tripped and fell down over one of the entrances and the wood that needed to be nailed down. They sell snacks. Lots of parking.

The McDermott family have been so good to the kids here in Rio. Often kids are short on the entry fee and they don’t turn them away. It’s the kindest most generous thing I have seen in a long time. I will gladly pay $60 a month for a basketball membership. The MAC center is awesome. Basketball. Baseball. Hockey. Great staff.

Came to watch my daughter ice skate. Everything was good EXCEPT the heater above the bleachers were inop. I get it, it's an ice skating rink, but it was super cold. Staff told me the heater has been out for quite awhile. ?

They have a nice facility with a cafe, but charging their customers the rental fee for skates even though they brought their own and are not going to rent any, is a complete rip off and unfair. We will not be going back. :(

Need to have the snack bar open. Especially when events are going on.

I do figure skating here and I've had a good experience. The ice was just redone in June and besides a couple small spots is well kept. My only minor complaint is the rental skates are not sharpened often and are a bit dull.
