More expensive than Walmart and less options

Went to buy some blistex in a package of three, around 1:15 in the afternoon. The cashier was an elder lady with wavy hair. She was nice to the people leaving as I entered and She was nice to the lady in front of me and told her to have a good day. I go up to her I say hello and she ignores it and asks if that’s it LOL. No thanks, no have a good day, no nothing. That was rude, and I felt targeted, so one star.

As busy at is was, the aisles were clear, and the shelves shoppable. All items were priced, and I was greeted by an associate immediately upon entering. There were options for self check out, or a cashier, and all the employees were very friendly. I will return to this store, as it's right across the street from where I live.

I went into today , the refrigerators next to the self check out had a sticker on the cooler advertising 20 ounces, Lipton, sodas, orange crush, etc. $1 .No expiration date. A very large sticker showing pictures and wording explaining which ones were a dollar. There happens to be the manager and a clerk standing there. The manager says oh, when you press to pay now button or whatever it’ll change the price. The clerk tried to change the price. When it wouldn’t change, she said I don’t know what to do. I said charge me a dollar is what you need to do. Then she proceeds to go to the cooler that directly next to me. She proceeds to read out loud the advertisement for the dollar sodas. Keep in mind there’s also pictures. But what I’m gathering she feels if she reads it enough it’s just gonna disappear. Finally out of frustration she tells me , that it’s the vendors it has nothing to do with them. I said your vendor , that’s stocking your soda is advertising a dollar soda and it has nothing to do with your company. She says that’s correct. I said so you’re gonna keep these stickers on the refrigerators right in front of the self check out , and then not honor the price. In front of me, she tears the sticker off. And marches away. And then I asked her so you’re not gonna sell it to me for a dollar. She tells me I’m not gonna get fired because of your soda. I don’t like the dollar general to begin with. I only went there because it’s close to elevate and I wanted a soda. But after the manager and the clerk treated me that way. This is obviously the way they conduct business at this place. The manager, realizing what was going on had already walked away and wanted no part of it I’m going forward I want no part of Dollar General myself

It is a shame we can't leave a negative number of stars. Horrible experience on 10/2/2022, when the store manager claimed she was the district manager, refused to give her name, and threatened to lock customers INTO the store so that they couldn't leave with discounted purchases.

Was charged $10 for an item marked 5.50. The item scanned at 10 so they just ripped off the 5.50 tag. Would not give me the difference. Very poor customer service. And I've been a very loyal customer.

This is one of my favorite store to shoot at. Great prices, well stocked. The employees are very helpful. They have a great variety of everything. We purchase many of our vitamins and minerals here. Recall is a great company, we prefer their products. You can't beat their price. I prefer them over Walmart.
