I brought my son in for an appointment on 7/5/23. I scheduled the appointment for a very routine wellness check, which my insurance covers. I now owe $59.50 because of a vision screening and a developmental testing. I did NOT schedule my appointments for these, so it wasn't up to me to see if my insurance covered them ahead of time. I never asked for either. I wasn't "asked" if we wanted vision screening, the doctor or nurse just proceeded to do it as a standard part of the wellness check. As such I never would have thought it was a separate portion of the exam. I still don't even know what the developmental testing was as I never received results. Had I known that these were different codes being circled and charged and that my insurance possibly would NOT have covered them I absolutely would have declined. I'm now told that there is no option but to pay because the code is circled and that's a done deal. A practice that operates with such subtlety and disloyalty to their patient's is somewhere I cannot come. I have talked to the billing department who told me I had no other options, begged to talk to someone else and was told there was no one. I called the main office and was told they would get me into contact with the site supervisor. I've heard nothing. This is an unfair bill because it was completely hidden from me until there was nothing else I could do.My daughter was seen on 7/26/2023 and there was a $7 charge for a health risk assessment. Again - same thing - I didn't ask for this. I saw no results. I don't know why a typical wellness check would charge extra for a health risk assessment. Isn't that exactly what the wellness check is? I recognize a $7 is not significant. It is very much the principle and dishonesty from an office that clearly does not put me first. An office that operates like this is somewhere I absolutely will not bring my children. I don't have the medical knowledge to ask about every single thing the doctor is doing. It all was nothing more than entirely routine. I need to be given options and information. So I will be in the process of finding a new doctor's office. In the meantime I would like SOMEONE to contact me about this. I have 4 children under 6 and a very busy schedule. I'd like to avoid bringing them all in as I beg to have someone hear my major complaint about this dishonest office.

Lori Myers is the best Pediatric provider you can have as a parent for your child, when things get rough and scary. Lori has helped my husband & I raise all 3 of our kids, now 23, 20 & 11yrs old. My children & I love her like family. She has been there with us for 18+ major bone surgeries, infections, countless hospitalizations & procedures. I genuinely love Lori as a person & a provider. I wish I could clone Lori, as we are hoping to escape NM ASAP, yet Lori is absolutely Irreplaceable. My youngest child's next pediatrician will have the impossible task of living up to Lori. I am in tears at the mere thought of not living in the same state as Lori or having her by my side for my youngest son while he continues through childhood. We love you Lori, thank you for all you do & have done for all of us, and keeping us sane & stable through all the hard & happy times. The poor reviews of Optum Family Practice DO NOT reflect the level of excellence and care you receive from the Optum Pediatric Practice, which is in the same building but a completely different medical team. The Optum Pediatric Practice is phenomenal and Lori is easy to relate to as she is human with her patients and their parents/ Guardians and doesn't treat parents or patients as complete idiots as do most full-blown doctors in NM.

Our pediatrician is stellar. Medical assistants and entry staff are professional. COVID safe for kids. Bring your N95, adults too (they gave me one to replace my cloth mask)

This clinic has the worst communication.1. i was not told of a critically low CBC lab value. I ended up in the emergency room getting 2 units of blood. ( i got the letter of results 3 weeks later) crticial results need to be called within am hour per protocol2. i was marked a no show when no one answe3ed the phone to take my temp in parking lot ,until i walked in to see what was going on was i told this.3. i needed a tb test due to my physical not having my immunizaron updated i got a tb test scheduled and was told to come in " before " 5pm i came in after 430 and was told " i was to late" ....mind you the nurse should know the lab protocls for teating.....again no c communication, drove in for no reasonI would love to change clinics but there are no new patients being acceoted that accepta my insirance until i change clnics im stuck.if u need a covid test dont let them con you in a dr visit go to walgreens its FREE!!!!!

If you are looking for a Covid test, don't go here. They still charge you for a doctors visit. There are plenty of other places that will do them 100% for free.

Our visit over all was outstanding even exceptional!! Pauline in the front was very kind and courteous!!! My daughter saw a Nurse by the name of Shelly who was yes, experienced but she was kind by nature. Did i mention the great administering injections to my 9 yr old Mrs.Shelly did!!! To top it off the Dr Arette Atencio was one of the sweetest Dr. I've seen on top of her caring and attentive response to my daughters needs and over all heath!! Thanks we'll be back and so will the rest of my family!!

I have taken my son here maybe three times total, but after taking him to other very ignorant doctors in RR I have found that Lori Myers is definitely the best. She takes the time to listen to your concerns she takes time to examine my son explains everything very thoroughly very happy with my pediatric choice.

I’ve been taking my children to this clinic since birth and I’d recommend it to anyone with children. Lori Myers is phenomenal! She takes time to look over the kiddos. If she’s late getting us in it’s because she’s taking the same care with her patients before us. I love that bedside manner!

Early appointments are hard to get. Most providers are pediatric and the provider I was assigned kept me waiting for my appointment and did more talking than doctoring. Won't be back.

Usually whenever I go with my husband to take my step son to be seen in this office everyone is pleasant from the front desk to the nurses and the doctors at this location. However, during the past few visits we have noticed some things that could be re-adjusted. Check in is fast and easy as expected but, then that's where things slow down.... You always have to wait a long time to be seen by the doctors. I don't know if the doctors are seeing too many patients, are spending too much time with patients, are short staffed or if they are just tired. but, I sure hope that things pick up to how they were. It was always nice arriving for the appointment you made and being seen at your appointment time. Now each visit it seems like they are always running further and further behind. I would gladly change my rating to 5 if we start getting seen on time again because really they do have great staff and doctors here at this location.

Very disappointed today. I had an appointment for my son and just got on a different insurance plan. I called before his appointment and let them know i dont ha e the card or number yet should i reschedule. The receptionist tell me no problem we can still see your son. We arrive for his appointment and the receptionist tell me sorry we cant see your son because you do not have your card but let me ask management.. that's exactly why i called earlier to confirm. Maybe that lady who answered the call the first time should have talked to management as well. So i drive all the to the other side of town to be told they were not going to see my son. I love my children's dr. But the ladys in the front need to get ot together. Maybe more training on how to handle insurance transitions.
