When planning our girls weekend in Red River I have to say, I wasn't expecting much. That being said, upon arrival I was blown away by this sleepy little ski town! ++ One word = Oktoberfest. The town was hopping during our early October visit. Plus the admission for the fest was cheap! ++ Fall color is stunning here! Everywhere you look there are TONS of golden leaves to greet you! ++ Skiing here looks completely affordable! Once the snow drops adult lift tickets are available on peak season days for a mere $50. I'll gladly make the drive for that! ++ Much of the town is dog-friendly! Since we brought two pups along with us that was much appreciated! ++ Lots of nearby trails to explore! I bet many of them would make great snowshoe adventures in the winter as well! +/- There's only one brewery in town, Red River Brewing Company. They have a decent selection of brews and a killer space. I know we will be making our way back to explore more that this northern New Mexico gem has to offer! Until next time Red River!

The beautiful town of Red River is just awesome and breathtaking show many things to do even in the summer time or early fall. If you decide to do Red River one of them must stay overnight places is to Terrace Tower Lodge is there accommodations or 2-bedroom with kitchens they are slightly rustic very rustic actually but what a wonderful experience right there on the Mountain built into the side actually the lady who runs that place is just absolutely awesome we came in in the rain on a motorcycle late night nowhere to stay in town she was closed but open for us and gave us all the help she could give it was outstanding I don't think I've ever been so welcomed and needed to be so welcomed haha it is definitely a better place two stays in any place I've stayed in a long time

You can't go wrong with any of the eating places here. Enjoyed Yesterday's Diner and music for lunch, their cobblers are great. The Steakhouse was a little pricey but the steak was tender and food tasty. Had a relaxing few days but disappointed at not being able to hike the trails due to fires.

We love this little town. Love, love, love that you can literally walk to the ski hill, grocery store, restaurants, all over in a matter of minutes. The people are friendly and it has a wonderful vibe. Winter or summer there is plenty to do here.

Just came through here last weekend during the summer!! So amazingly beautiful!! My husband want to come back in the Winter!! It seems like an extremely family friendly ski resort town. The middle of town was hopping on Saturday and we fit right in! Lots of shops and cool places to eat. The Trisha's were playing at some saloon that night and we were impressed that they drew a pretty big name to that small town. If you are looking for a good burger check out The bull pen. Great food!

This is a nice Northern New Mexico Ski Area that is easy to ski because the trail grooming activities pretty much destroys any moguls. In other words, this place is tailor made for Texans. And after 1 visit, I was ready for something a little more challenging.

For anyone, "Grandma's house" is a special place. I am lucky enough to have my special place smack dab in the middle of Red River. I grew up in this small town and have so many great memories here. At the tender age of 2 I was placed on my first pair of skis and inched my way down the bunny hill. Years later, I was speeding down The Face and participating in the torchlight. I've ridden up and down Main Street on the Fourth of July in multiple floats, spent Easter mass at the local church, watched Santa ride up on a firetruck on Thanksgiving night, and ridden around the Go-Kart track time and time again. It's the epitome of a mountain town with a priceless charm that I hope lasts for ages. Any time of year, there's something fun to do here. True, it's small. Yes, there aren't that many people who live here. But when you're surrounded with people you love, you'll find plenty of magic all around.
