1901 W 2nd St, Portales“The rooms were good, fresh looking. The toilets were too low & loud for someone getting older. trying to find handle areas for support to get up. The breakfast lacked everything possible from the quality of the food and quantity to the temperature for the weekend/holiday. While we were there, there should for there should have been extra help for food service. Friday was ok. The meats & eggs were barely warm, actually cold. I see health issues(food poison) here; we refused to eat most of it. Saturday, there was no warmed food, coffee, or pancake batter replaced. The front desk girl seemed lost in how or why the pancake machine wouldn't work. If there was another person, they were never seen. The coffee pot "was slow"(they hadn't had coffee for more than an hour one family said. There were no biscuits or gravy. The silverware had not been restocked. There was no bread stocked either. We had to go elsewhere for breakfast due to the lack of food and promptly warmed food. The ideal of stay of staying there was the breakfast and hot tub. The people in the pool had no respect for others "us" in the hottub. They kept screaming, never trying to lower the tune. I guess we may have to try one of the three next time, despite being rewards membersSafety: While walking down the stairs, it looked like a man was going to go through the emergency door and set off the alarm. We said something about it to him, and he said he was maintenance and checking to make it was locked. The man had no visible identification tag or clothing to state who he was. To me, this is a customer safety issue not being able to identify the employees quickly and easily. We didn't know who he was or why he was heading towards that doorFood & drinks: I said it all earlier, but I will be calling the local health department to check out your breakfast temperatures.Noteworthy details: As a reward member, that was by far the worst food service I have seen”
“We stayed here for 2 weeks while we were packing to move out of portales. Owners were very attentive and always had a smile on their face, yeah the rooms could use an update but for the price it's alright!!”
“Had to wait over 15 minutes to check-in because no one was at the front desk. There was a note they'd be back in 5 minutes but that wasn't the case. The room had a slight odor of mildew/mold but was so wore out from the trip that I just wanted to shower and go to bed.The shower was hot and the rooms were clean (except for the odor).”
