The owners of this grocery store in Placitas are complete liars. It's now November 2nd. They had a grand reopening on September 30th. The store looks exactly the same or worse than it did then. They are just selling off the remaining inventory. I would bet money that this store will be closed by the end of the year. They knew exactly what they were getting into and then denied it later at a community meeting. They lied at the community meeting and they're still lying about this store being a going concern. It's a big scam. So they're either writing it off as a loss against another store that they own or this is all involved somehow with COVID money that they got because they bought two other businesses in 2020 and they probably got that COVID money and now the COVID money has gone away so these businesses are going to go away. In the meantime they are destroying what's left of these stores.

I didn't think this place could get any worse, but it has... Miss you Judy and Orville! No salsa, no potato salad, freezers aren't working. Now they close at 5pm. I guess it's on it's last leg... I wonder what their other store looks like?

If you are out at the foothills of the Sandia Mt., this is a great little market for your quick stop needs. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The store is clean, and some local options are available within. They also sell beer, wine, and spirits here.

Shelves were bare. Not taking care of the public like a grocery should. Staff are embarrassed to talk about why they have so little supplies. ?

Since the ownership changed. The selves are bare , hardly any inventory, no freezer food. Freezer system is out of service. Barely any fresh vegetables. Really a-shame that the place has gone so far down hill in last couple years. They seem to have tobacco and liquor and wine. No ice lately no bread. Few canned goods. Over all it looks like they are trying to close! Was a great little Market and the only one in placitas. Wishing the new owner much more success. We need you here. Please get it together!

I love this little market in Placitas. They have a great vegetarian corner with easy to grab and go options. I had their combo plate with tabouleh. olives and tofu salad. It was delicious! They have a little bit of everything and a good wine selection.

The store use to be pretty decent. Even though it was expensive they carried a variety of staples. Since new ownership the shelves are empty. Will not waste anymore of my time trying to shop there.,Recently started going to T.N.T market in Bernalillo. Prices are great and their produce is not wilting. The beer selection is not great but a least they have beer. Plus the Range is across the street. Win, win.

Since the new ownership took over, The Merc has considerably gone downhill. They simply do not care. Shelves are usually empty and quality of products have gotten worse. But prices have risen, so there is that.

Very convenient but are often low in stock.. if you don't mind paying a little more so you don't have to trek into town and go to the bigger stores it is fantastic

Expensive, little options & friendly not on top of their list. Now friendly staff but new owners not well received. No more coupons or monthly news letters...Good luck finding what you need! Don't assume you can "just get it" there on your way home

Food choices are circa 1990. If you are looking for grape-nuts and Paul Newman cookies this is the place. Deli food is meh. Produce is ok. Fresh bread from a santa fe bakery in the morning is excellent. Ok for basic groceries but if you have any dietary restrictions or try to eat healthy you need to go to the next town.

Prices have been raised considerably. Still nice to not have to go town though.
