Another national treasure here at Pecos, New Mexico. We were so glad that we stopped here. The visitor center is beautiful and very informative. We then walked to the Pueblo and Mission where the morning light cast a beautiful warm glow. Snow-capped mountains were off in the distance. This was a lovely park and very well done glimpse into the history and archeology of this beautiful area.

This park is off the beaten path and not crowded at all. Just north of Santa Fe tucked in the canyons and piñon trees of NM. Has an easy doable 1.5 mile paved trail for all ages or handicaps. Lots of historic interests. Just watch out for snakes, don’t go off trail or go kicking bushes lol

A fascinating and beautiful place to be sure. It's like taking a step back into time. You can walk the grounds & reflect on the culture and daily life that played out here hundreds of years ago and take in the remenents of the amazing large scale structures that were once here. Definitely worth the stop if you are in the Santa Fe area!

Really enjoyed this historical site. An easy walk on the guided tour (despite the weather 92*) and Park Ranger Roberts made it fantastic with his depth of knowledge and great personality. The movie afterwards and the museum were really above and beyond!

Enjoyed our visit to Pecos National Historical Place. The visitors center provided an excellent introduction through a series of thoughtful exhibits. Appreciated that many exhibits had items to touch and feel that would engage children in the content. There is also a short orientation film. From the visitors center there is a self guided trail of about 1 1/4 miles through the ancestral sites It's done in packed gravel. There's a slight elevation gain of 80 feet. For those who find that too much you can drive up to a second parking lot by the church and explore that area.Restrooms: Two sets of restrooms one at visitors center and one in the picnic area by the churchDog-friendliness: Dogs on leash are welcome in all outside areas. They are not allowed inside the visitors centerPicnic area: Two picnic areas. Three tables at visitors center and many more in the shaded area in the second parking lot by the church

Great National Park close to Sante Fe. Recently reopened with excellent, updated exhibits to reflect a more complete and accurate accounting of the hundreds of years of occupation by the native Pueblo peoples. I was able to walk through the ruins with my dog and enjoyed exploring the underground Kiva. Very knowledgeable park rangers and an excellent gift chop. Highly recommended.Restrooms: Clean!Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leads are allowed on the path in the ruins.

Amazing! Check it out if you have a chance. Before you get started, buy the $2 trail guide in the visitor's center - worth it! The rangers and volunteers were especially friendly and helpful.

Another gem of a national park that is relatively close to Santa Fe! It has a great visitor center, awesome paths for everyone, and the Pueblo itself is an amazing place in and of itself. Above all, the wheelchair access is some of the best I’ve seen.

So cool and totally worth going to see the ruins, sites, and visitor center museum. Yes there are rattle snakes along the paths. Please watch for them. We saw 3 today. Magical. Just keep your distance and wait for them to slither by.

Easy hike, if you just wanna see the ruins, it’s toward the end of the loop so just go backward. If you follow the loop you’ll get to go down into a Kiva and some nice overlooks. Close drive to Santa Fe if you wanna get out of the city for an hour or two.

Really cool experience. I highly recommend watching the video in their theater first and then doing the walk with the book guide. It was super cool going into the kivas. The church is beautiful as well.

This place was great. I'd say it is a must see. They charge nothing but I believe in donations. It's a decent walk not too long, not too short. I recommend this adventure if you have time. Amazing!!
