Excellent little shop of local goodies. We always stock up on their oils and vinegars. They have wine tasting of local wines. We stop in any time we are on the plaza.

They always have what I need! I come here to purchase pistachios for my family who live in California. They love the red and green chile shelled pistachios! Their peanut brittle is amazing as well! Lots of gift ideas so make sure to stop and browse.

Very helpful staff, taste tested a bunch of really great wines. Ultimately went with the Pistachio wine, surprisingly VERY good. I'm an IPA beer drinking guy.. so to find an odd wine and for it to be THAT good was very impressive.

Nice store in the middle of Mesilla. The wine was good, and the prices were affordable. I stopped twice to buy wine and pistachios during my road trip. The store also has shipping services to some states. Highly recommended!

Fun little shop with various wines, pistachios, and other items. There is another shop like this one in Alamogordo which is a bit larger. They have good pistachio brittle. They give out samples so Try the red and green chili pistachio brittle. It is very good.

We really like the wine but on this occasion we went in 3 minutes before closing. We didn't realize this but the lady who was serving tastes had a bad attitude about it and literally came up an excuse that their license expires at 5 pm so we could either buy something or taste but we had 3 minutes. Honestly if she would have just said, hey guys we close at 5 we would have left because we aren't the type to stay after closing.

Heart of the walking tour gave me an insight of the history of the pistachio. April our walking tour guide was deeply knowledgeable, friendly and can answer questions. Wine tasting afterwards was a great way to end the tour.

We stopped in this adorable shop while walking around Mesilla. We got some of the pistachio wine - my first time trying it, and it was delicious! I should have gotten more! Very affordable as well.

I was road tripping through New Mexico and stopped in the tiny, charming little town of Mesilla. I needed to stretch my legs so I spent about an hour walking around the main square, and I thought it would be cool to check out some local food and wine to take home with me as a souvenir. I love wine and nuts, so going into Heart of the Desert Pistachios & Wines was a no-brainer.
This homey little shop has lots of local New Mexican delights. I purchased a local Syrah ($14.99), Hatch Chile Infused Olive Oil ($12), and a half pound of Garlic & Onion Pistachios ($7.50). I love buying souvenirs that I can eat, and it was fun to get these home and sample them while remembering my trip through New Mexico. I was shocked, but the wine wasn't half bad! Of course the nuts and olive oil were culinary hits.
Check this small shop out if you're in Mesilla. It feels good to support such a down-home, local business.

I took my parents to Mesilla last Sunday. We went inside the store and the ladies there were very rude, no customer service and racist towards Hispanics.
