I love bookstores. With so many ebooks nowadays, it is refreshing to see a bookstore, especially one that isn’t affiliated with a big chain. The selection was exceptional. Also, there are gifts and local souvenirs available. It is nestled in a historic area so it’s nice to take in the area and atmosphere. I enjoyed speaking to the owner not about books but her beautiful and well behaved dogs. They were an unexpected treat.

Fun, charming and organized store. Lots of history books and non fiction but has some used gems of all sorts. I never leave without a book, has great kids section. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.Owner who orders the books brings their cute dogs sometimes.

Owner does not want photos of the location done for security "reasons", the place is not a fort Knox place has doors that look they are going to fall. Owner looked lost I had to explain my intentions as if they where a child. I offered delete photos and will do so. I feel that the owner doesn't realize the community wants to help out. Note I was intending of purchasing couple items not anymore.

Nice selection of books. This might be my favorite store in Mesilla.

Great book store. Found something I was looking for after almost a year of hunting right as I walked in the door.

Wonderful bookshop, located in a 4 room adobe building on the town’s main square. Great selection of books peculiar to the area and it’s history as well as best sellers and classic novels and books. Very well curated: on the day of our visit there was a display of books on campers, vans for camping, and little houses together with some toys of the same theme. Fun! Electic and educated taste, worth a stop to browse and enjoy the ambiance.

I’ve been here twice, once with family and once with friends from out of town and both times had such an awful experience it’s actually kinda tainted Mesilla for me. The older woman that works there is INCREDIBLY RUDE and makes it a point to make you uncomfortable while shopping there. DONT GO !!!!

I love supporting local bookstores. Therefore, I stopped into Bowlin's Mesilla Book Center today while visiting Mesilla. The books are largely organized-ish, but I left unsure as to whether it was a mix of both new and used books or largely new books. Nonetheless, the Center's slight disarray is part of its charm. Unlike many of the surrounding kitschy t-shirt shops, its gifts have character and are unique. I found a new copy of Miller's A CHILDREN'S BIBLE. Both the owner and young lady who rang me up were engaging and personable. Support local businesses, especially bookstores!

As far as bookstores go, they have a great selection of unique books. The owners are knowledgeable and helpful if you are looking for book ideas. The place is a destination itself, the art and artifacts inside are interesting.

I love this bookstore. Such fun browsing among some very interesting books-I purchased my Holiday Cards here too. I enjoy the feedback from the employees & have fun petting & talking to their in store dogs.I hope everyone takes time to visit this little gem -buy your books here not online. Keep small businesses open!!!GMay

Unlike others I did not find the shopkeepers to be friendly. Also found it odd that they seem to be selling used books for full price. Maybe there are so few bookstores in the area that people are ok with that, but the combination of these two things turned me off. That said the selection was very good, especially for nonfiction readers like me, and there were several interesting titles I had not seen before.

Beautiful old building with many, many wonderful books. The girl who was working was just as great, she was very helpful and patient.

This was a remarkable find. We went there because of the children's books, of which we bought several. I also spent time exploring the remarkable stacks of well organized history books. I doubt there is a better bookstore in all of Southern New Mexico for local and regional history.
