Liz Sanchez is the best of the best when it comes to education and training of horses. They have been in this area for over 50 years, and the facilities are very nice. Everyone who works there is kind and friendly and will help you out if you have any questions. I highly recommend this business, if you or your children are in need of lessons!

We love Liz and the stables. My daughter has been going for over a year and has learned so much about horses!

I had spoke to Liz (owner) about the rates to clarify, if they were per rider as they only indicate per hour. After some discussion about bringing my friend for a lesson for her birthday, Liz enthusiastically said she’d show her around and she could stay to watch the woman’s group ride and be given a welcome packet for free. She also indicated that there would be potential for my friend to do a lesson if she liked it, and I was prepared to pay. After showing up at the agreed upon time we were greeted at the gate with a welcome packet, we were told we could leave now. “I don’t have time for you” was the response we were given as to why we couldn’t stay.I can understand if things get busy as a business, but it’s a business. We cancelled appointments with other potential stables for this experience on my friend’s special day. She was beyond upset by the experience!I’m very furious with how we were dismissed as my friend only wanted to ride horses on her birthday. As native NMs, I’m disappointed as that’s not how we behave here in NM, that’s not how I was raised. It’s not how we treat others who are asking for help/training.I sincerely hope this helps improve the customer service for this business as its what’s good for our community.

I went to Liz for about 6 months, during that time I'd say actual lessons were more fun than they were informative. Which, for the price, is kind of ridiculous, for $90 one would expect a lesson that leaves you feeling like you've learned or improved even a small bit but the only real lessons come from the underaged trainers that work under Liz.Liz herself is the problem with this ranch. Last lesson I attended of hers she had spent a half hour berating me and attacking me on personal things and when I told her I no longer wanted to ride that day because of how she was making me feel she told me that I was not allowed to get off the horse yet and to keep riding. Then proceeded to laugh at me and mock me for the way I was riding. This was the worse interaction I had directly with Liz, but it's common place for her to viciously yell and talk down to her workers, stable hands, underaged trainers, partner, in front of others. If you go along with everything she says you can keep your head down, but even then it seems she just randomly attacks people verbally.Seeing these more recent reviews honestly makes me sad, maybe Liz is not well to be managing her business anymore. It's also very slimy and extremely unprofessional the way she goes into the reviews of displeased customers and claims that "payment/check bounced" regardless of if payment was received or not I hardly think it excuses such rude and downright mean behaviors towards children. The fact that she goes into comments to announce that their payment wasn't received but does not address any of their concerns shows that the real motivation is monetary at the detriment of the customer's satisfaction. There are much more affordable places to ride, with much more professional and dedicated trainers here in NM, don't ruin your equine experience here.

My best friend scheduled a training session and ride for me for my birthday. It was the only thing I wanted to do for my day because I want to eventually buy a horse so I want to learn the A to Z’s. Well it didn’t happen. At all. None of it.My best friend called on 9/22 and spoke to Liz directly for an appointment on 9/24, (my actual birthday) who agreed and told us to “come on in, we can work with her at 1030”. Great! Right?…NOT!!!We showed up on the 24th right before our 10:30 appt. Were let in by one of the groundskeepers, who was friendly, only to be stopped by Liz while we were in the middle of parking. She shoved her “packet” through the driver side window and said “here’s a packet for her with some coupons, you can turn around here and head to the gate, I’ll close it after you”. My friend called out “um excuse me ma’am?”, “ma’am?” but she ignored him. I told him, “let’s just follow her up to the gate in the truck and just ask her about the confusion since she’s at the gate anyway”. Once at the gate, my friend stopped and said “excuse me Liz, I think there’s some confusion, I spoke with you on Friday about my friend being able to do lessons and learn how to saddle up her horse…”, before he could even finish, she put her hand up, rudely waving us off and said “no, nope, I ain’t got time for y’all today. I gotta close this gate”. I told my friend “forget it, let’s just go”.No apology from her for the misunderstanding ON HER PART, no offer to reschedule. Nothing. Now I’m not racist by any means, but I’ve dealt with it my whole life. I have a caucasian last name but CLEARLY look the hispanic/native that I am and I get “the look” all the time, so it FELT TO ME, like she saw who we were and responded the way she did and I’m entitled to feel how she made me feel regardless of whether that was the intent or not.Still, if you’re a business owner, a local one at that, you kind of want people to come and support your business. Now if you’re a business owner with maybe some early onset dementia or becoming slightly senile, you may want to hire a more “alert and oriented” front office manager who can remember inviting people to come to your business and spend money. Just saying. I’ll be taking my business and my money to a much more welcoming environment where I can learn to properly care for a horse and learn to be a stronger rider. Thanks for the GREAT 45th BIRTHDAY LIZ!!! You made the day amazing for this RN!??P/S - In case you delete this from your google reviews, I’ve copied it so I can continue to paste it wherever I can add a review, in hopes that you don’t ruin anyone else’s birthday!!!

I was looking for a place to have a great time with horses but I have to say, the recent reviews and overall aura of disgust has turned me away for good.

I've wanted to ride horses my whole life, and Liz Sanchez made it possible! She was very knowledgeable and patient with me , and matched me with a horse that was a great fit! She made sure to teach all the things someone would need to know about riding a horse, and everything was very hands on. I learned to groom, tack, lead, and ride the horse, and I had a lot of fun! Plus, the horses all look very healthy, happy, and well cared for! Can't wait to go back!

Not sure if this happened because of post covid protocols and summer kids camp. My grandson just went through a week of camp, Liz stressed that there would be pictures each day and a video at the end of all that he and the others got to do with the horses. I received (3) pictures and no video. Very disappointed as his great grandparents paid for this and they are out of state, I thought how cool for them to get to see how their money was spent. Didn't happen. Hope they enjoyed the three pictures and thank you note.

Liz provides the best care for your horses and hers. She's very respectful, and she knows just about everything about horses! I have been a boarder since 2005. I wouldn't recommend anyone else!

I do not recommend this stable. The owner talks down to the children and makes them feel bad instead of taking the time to teach them the proper way to do things. When a student asks a question she ignores them or tells them "come on you should know this!". She talks poorly of the parents to the other parents and doesn't teach the kids anything. When she has a bad day she takes it out on the kids!! She only cares about the money, NOT her students. she forced young riders to break in stubborn ponies that either won't walk, or just buck and throw the kids off. When a concern is brought up, she tells your child they will never learn how to ride a horse and bans you from the stable. smh. Extremely unprofessional and should retire. NOT FIT TO TEACH KIDS!! A real teacher should be patient, have empathy and care for the kids! Im taking my daughter and her friends to Platinum Performance Horses. I heard Mariah runs things much better and is actually professional.Edit: despite the owners false, we never wrote a check. Always paid cash which she was happy to receive. Last visit when she refused to teach my daughter and made her cry no we didn’t pay for a lesson not received! Duh!!

What a safe and Covid conscience place for my daughter to learn to ride. So welcoming and nice. The owner is amazing! I would recommend to everyone.
