Vet technicians were extremely helpful and kind. But the veterinarian Dr. Krakoff, that works there has no compassion for her patients. If it's after 4 pm she will refuse to help any animals. Even if it's an emergency. She only cares about her paycheck.

So easy to make an appointment. We scheduled a week in advance. The visit was very thorough. Staff were very caring and professional

The team here is really nice and responsive. I don't know all the vets but Dr. Vigil is extremely conscientious and caring. He followed up with our sick doggie with a personal phone call and was genuinely concerned about her well-being. You can't fake that kind of compassion.

I’m so happy that Los Alamos finally has a provider to care for exotic animals! They were able to see my hedgehog very quickly and got him on the antibiotics he needed. Dr Krakoff was knowledgeable and thorough. (March 2024)

This was our first appointment for our 2 kitties here in Los Alamos. Everything about it was very easy. The lobby is large enough that when a dog came in we were no where close. The assistant and Dr. in the exam room were easy to talk to, explained choices well, and very engaging with our kitties. The person at the desk for check in and check out was nice and patient as I struggled with my heavy cat carrier and hurried around the counter to open the door on our way out. Thank you all at Animal Clinic for Los Alamos!!

I made an appointment for what was supposed to be a skin tag removal. I made that clear on the phone and they said "no problem." I get there and I get a $25 vaccine and $75 wellness visit. The wellness visit they only checked vitals which took 5 mins. Then continued to up sale additional vaccines and came back with and itemized estimate of $1000 to remove a skin tag! This place is incredibly overpriced!

My dog went in April for a dental. Afterwards she developed an infection, which came back several times. They referred us to a specialist in Algodones that believed her condition could be treated with medicine, which they gave the prescription for to ACLA. ACLA did not write it down or do anything with that information for weeks until we called both them and the specialist who resent over the info. ACLA told us they could not fill the perscriptions and said a pharmacy could but did not know who could all while the dogs condition got worse. We asked for a round of antibiotics to fight it since they have seen this dog several times over the past months, but they wanted to schedule a visit so they could charge us several hundred more dollars for something they could see from their notes.I am still unable to get the medicine for my dog and very disappointed in this vet who clearly does not care about their patients.

It is better to drive to Santa Fe and find other options. It is almost impossible to call and book an appointment since they don't answer the calls 80% of the time. The vets are nice but they are very VERY expensive when compared to clinics in SF or ABQ. I would not recommend it especially if your pets have big health issues.

We were heartbroken to lose Valley Vet during the pandemic, and tried a number of different vets for our cats and dog. By far the best experience, and the place we now go is the Animal Clinic of Los Alamos. The vet is gentle, knowledgeable and compassionate. Techs are always friendly, receptionists super helpful. The rooms are quiet and clean, easy parking. Recommended.

Before the visit, I called to ask for the estimates for vaccines, wellness check, and urine and blood tests. The first time I called, I was told that they didn't have the estimate for senior dog wellness check ready for me and I could call back later. I called again and was told there are various tests and they don't know for sure how much the whole thing would cost until the doctor takes a look at my dog.I took my dog in today. I asked for the estimates on paper and informed the tech that I only want to do the two vaccine shots today. I specifically told the tech I prefer to talk to my husband first before doing the wellness check ($79) and the $200something senior dog tests. The vet then came in. She was super friendly and did a good job connecting with my dog. I heard her said, "We are only going to do the two vaccine shots today but before that let me check on you." She quickly checked on my dog(less than 3minutes). I found it a bit odd since we were only getting vaccines today but she patted on my dog and quickly checked on her teeth and listened to heart beats. I thought it was the standard practice. When checking out, I was charged with the wellness check fee and $10 tech support fee along with the two vaccine shots I agreed with. It was a long day and I didmention my concern to the front desk. I was told this is what the vet billed me for today's visit. We have been going to los Alamos animal clinic for 7 years. I think they switched owners during the pandemic and the prices have gone up to the extent that it is quite unreasonable. I still want to thank most of the staff for being courteous but today's incident leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. Just be aware!

I am very selective for whom I let care for my dogs, I trust Animal Clinic of LA with all my dogs medical needs.
