This bookstore is a perfect spot to get good prices on books and even a good spot to find first copies of certain books. If you’re a book lover I would definitely recommend this place !

Passing through Las Cruces and we have to hit our favorite used bookstore. The staff here are so incredibly knowledgeable. So many excellent books. It's not set up like a library or even a larger bookstore so don't be afraid to ask for help. PS There is a great (hidden, but worth the search) vegan coffee shop within walking distance (and two excellent-but-small museums too) within walking distance. I took my three little kids in with me to grab a coffee and the staff suggested steamers for them with their house made flavor syrups. So good! Bonus: the staff were all friendly and kind-- an excellent break from the soul-crushingly lame big coffee chains.

Based on my many experiences here throughout the years, this is an awesome store to visit. They have many books, movies, and knick knacks to choose from. Great customer service. No issues overall. Would highly recommend and return.

I'm a huge fan of independent book stores. Coas is one of, if not the, best in southern New Mexico. Huge selection of new and used books, movies, and music. Rare and collectible items as well.

I love this store! My family has been buying and trading in books here since I was 10. Every time I visit I always come home with something, and I've had lots of luck finding cool and unique books there.

World class bookstore. You can always find a book here. Always. I used to live in NYC and this store competes with everything there. Maybe only STRAND with FIVE MILES of books could compete. Just their photography section has a few HUNDRED books. You WILL ALWAYS find good Christmas gifts here as well as solid technical books, anything you want. They have some pretty amazing RARE books here and used DVDs. (I THINK they have used DVDs). Main store is across the street from Grounded cafe, best Pizza in New Mexico. You cannot go here and NOT find a book you would want to read. Affordable. GREAT HELPFUL STAFF. Its been there for years and years. It was there back in 95 when I started visiting Las Cruces from Holloman AFB where I was stationed.

I’ve always loved Coas but lately their prices have gone through the roof. A set of writing prompts for kids had two price stickers, one for 2.99, the other for 25$. They clearly bought it for the lower price and tried to sell it for a very high one. They wouldn’t honor the lower price.

I love this book store. My children find great books here all the time. My daughter is going through a thriller -horror book phase and has been reading books that young readers nowadays know nothing about. It seems that her thing is vintage books and it is nice to keep older books in circulation.

Coas has grown immensely from the last time I was there over a decade ago. It covers the area of three commercial lots in down town Las Cruces. It's been remodeled too, but the remodels kind of give it an old school or public library feel rather than the vintage or historic feel it used to have. The selection of books is also very extensive as well. Fantasy, fiction, historical, political, spiritual, occult and new age, biographies, geography, children, etc.For me, I like looking for old books, and they had a great selection of them dating back a long ways. But, sadly, they charge a LOT for those old books. Anywhere from $20-$200 and up. As an old book hound, I know I can't get more than $5-$15 out of most of those, resale. But at the same time, places like this give old books the value they deserve, so I'm kinda torn. I just didn't pick anything up here. I'm sure there's some real treasures in here too, I Just didn't have time to look through their selection. It was just too large. Plenty to see though.

What a great bookstore right in the heart of Las Cruces! If you’re a bookworm, this is the place to be. There’s basically a genre with almost 100 books to go, with a couple copies at different prices. There’s about 5 different sections of the store, divided really nicely and all are wheelchair accessible. If you’re in the area, would highly recommend!
