“We were traveling from California to home in Ark. Driving on I40, our vehicle suddenly lost all power, we made it to Grants, NM about 5 miles away. We are an elderly couple, traveling across country with our elderly very sick furry baby, and my husband is not able to work on vehicles anymore. I searched for an O'Reillys Auto Parts store near Grants, NM. We pulled into the parking lot and the truck immediately died. Not even windows worked, we had no lights or gauges. Amanda brought the tester machine out, and it was determined that the O'Reillys alternator had gone out, and now the battery was dead! Being 16+ hours from home we had no one to assist. Amanda graciously offered us water, use of restroom facilities and kept checking with us to make sure we were ok, and cool enough. She offered to call a couple of people/friends to assist us. Later, a trusted, local mechanic came and changed the Alternator, and discovered one of the idler pulleys went out then replaced it as well. After a couple of hours, the store was closing, and our vehicle was finally fixed. Amanda, the Grants, NM store manager was a life-saver! She went well above and beyond assisting an old couple (74 & 67 yo) traveling. I have no idea what salary or wage is paid in NM, but this compassionate manager is truly a dedicated employee of O'Reillys, and deserves recognition and any monetary bonus available from your company. Thank you again Amanda for all you did for us! May God bless you always, and reward your kindness ten-fold! Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hebert, Murfreesboro, AR 71958.”
