The phone just rings, no one answers, and no answering machine/voice mail. Have they closed down?

Lloyd and the guy that is the spitting image of Toby Keith, are amazing! Across country trip, broke down here, Lloyd reopened his shop, Toby towed our car, these people are awesome! So nice! Saved us! Thank you both so much! I thank God for you! May you always be blessed!

BEST, HONEST MECHANIC! Bobby came in on his Saturday day off, diagnosed the electrical issue, drove to another city to obtain a hard to find alternator. On Sunday Bobby replaced the alternator and fixed two other issues that would have left us stranded down the road if not resolved (idler pulley bearing bad and rear differential grease low.) He recommended a motel to stay at in town and things to see while we there. He charged us a fair fee for labor without overtime charges. I can't say enough about how Bobby went above and beyond to ensure we were going to make it home.

Traveling home to Texas after a trip to Idaho, we broke down in Ft Sumner at 5p in July. Bobby and Lloyd towed us to their shop and when it became clear they were unable to fix the car, Bobby’s wife Joyce drove us 60 miles to Clovis after 7pm. They were phenomenal and so very kind.

I agree with other reviews- if you have to break down, especially while traveling, Ft Summer is the place to do it. Bobby and Lloyd towed us to their shop after 5p on a hot July afternoon. Once it became clear the problem was bigger than they could fix, Bobby's wife Joyce drove us 60 miles into Clovis to spend the night and Bobby towed the car much later after he helped another customer. Their kindness and customer service were top notch.

Bobby and his wife are some of the nicest people we've meet in a long time. Came to meet us to assess a tire after he was closed. Gave us peace of mind that we could continue our journey to Colorado.

The last honest mechanic left! I broke down in this town, with nothing open and no where to turn. The owner of this establishment physically came to my assistants. I've worked as a mechanic for over ten years and believe that their are only two types of mechanics, those that are motivated by $$$ and those that motivated truly helping people!!! Russ & sons 5 star experience!!!

Amazing!!! I was traveling from Nevada to Texas and my differential pinion seal failed. With no parts stores open and only two shops that could fix that issue the owner of this shop was came to my assistance on a Saturday morning then he brought me to his shop did everything in his power to help me the cost was significantly less than if I had been at a dealer just absolutely phenomenal even called his brother in the next town over to check it to make sure that everything was okay. People like this man are a dying breed!!!!

I was traveling to Chama New Mexico, and threw a serpentine belt on my Dodge truck. I was setting on the shoulder of the road talking to AAA when Bobby Russ came by and stopped to see if he could help, getting dark and cold! Towed me to Ft. Summer took him four hours to get me going, had the parts on hand, finished at 11:30 pm and spotted another problem I had and fixed that As a bonus all for $365.12!! If you have any problems and are in the Ft. Summer area call Bobby because you can trust him!

Don't you hate it when your truck, carrying a camper, trailing your car, breaks down on a hot summer day a couple of miles outside of a tiny town in an area with just enough cell service to make a call - and to make that call almost useless because there's such poor reception? You should hope it happens to you where it happened to us. I was helping my friend Michelle move when her truck slowly died on a straightaway, and we stopped a couple of miles outside of town in just such a situation. We were barely out of traffic on a narrow shoulder, trucks and cars whizzing by. After a while, a local plumber stopped (kudos to Gerid Higgins), asking if we needed help. We explained the situation, and he let us use his cell phone (local carrier, better service) to speak with his friend Bobby Russ, one of the "& Sons". Bobby was at home. He'd spent the previous three nights of the week working until near or after midnight. But he still came out with his wrecker, which was not up to the job of hauling our whole rig. So he went and got his friend Galen, and Galen's truck. They attached a chain and dragged our sorry butts into town and into an RV park across the street from their shop where we could spend the night until the shop opened in the morning. The next morning **he came to us**, first thing after the shop opened, and did the work (fuel filter) in the RV park. He didn't have the fuel pump we needed (or the lift to raise the truck and camper), so he directed us on to Clovis, and let us use his landline to connect with a mechanic there, after assuring us that we would make it that far, which we did. His charge for the filter and labor was very reasonable. But the shocker, and the reason I had to write this review, was what he charged us to come out to us, go fetch his buddy, and haul us into town, when he should have been at home having dinner and a cold one: $10. Ten dollars . . . in case you thought I accidentally left off a zero. So if you are near Fort Sumner, and know you need an oil change soon, or new wiper blades, or anything done to your vehicle, big or small, please give Bobby Russ your business. He richly deserves it. But please try to do it during regular business hours: the man deserves a good night's sleep. Tell him John and Michelle sent you.

My daughter and granddaughter were traveling back home and her vehicle broke down 10 miles from Ft Sumner. She called AAA and they sent a tow truck to help her.....maybe they sent a guardian angel. Bobby one of the owners of Russ, towed her car to their shop and discovered that she had blown hose. They fixed the hose and took the car for a test drive. My daughter decided to drive the car a few more miles while in Ft Sumner and Bobby told her to bring the car back by for him to check again before she left town. Great customer service. She did go back and he said the hose was still good. In stead of taking advantage of an out of state customer, he charged a very reasonable fee and made my daughter feel very comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing service in Ft Sumner. Thank you Bobby.
