Don't do drugs. Also, do not contact Daniel for any automotive repair work, especially if it involves a clutch. He is clearly incompetent and will lie and lie about what he is and is not doing. Worst decision of my life was to let this guy work on my Subaru. At one point, after two weeks of me texting waiting for any updates on my car, he called me and cursed me out. I had to get the sheriff involved to even get my car back, which was basically in pieces. I had my car towed to Point S, and they had it fixed and back running in one afternoon. The tow truck driver mentioned my car wasn't the first he had towed out of Daniel's (not garage, he just pretends to fix cars in an old abandoned barn) to a more reputable mechanic.
What a shame. First time in Taos and I had the great unfortunate luck to meet this guy. Literally every one else was great. The town was great. Stay far, far away from Daniel and his lies.

I don’t know what happened regarding the previous reviews, but my experience with Daniel was an absolute nightmare. Do not recommend.

Had a great experience with Dan and his 2 young helpers. In diagnosing and helping us fix our tire problem, he was knowledgeable, efficient, and skilled. Highly recommend.

My experience with Daniel was great. He came to me on short notice and quickly evaluated my car after it was rear ended. Daniel was courteous and professional.I was rear ended in Taos, NM. I’m from Maine, and my insurance company, while great, had no licensed adjuster in NM. It was taking a long time to get the car looked at, and I was anxious to get home. I talked to my insurance agent, who suggested that if the car was safe to drive I might be able to drive it back home and get it serviced there. It looked like the damage was cosmetic but I was worried about hidden damage. The car is a Subaru, but no Subaru dealer would evaluate it before it was evaluated by a body shop. No body shop I could find would evaluate it if they weren’t doing the repairs as well, but one suggested that I find a mechanic.Dan’s Auto Repair is close to where I was staying and had good reviews. I called and Daniel said he could to me come at the end of his workday. He came, looked it over and confirmed that there was no structural damage. I paid his reasonable fee, and now can enjoy the rest of my vacation without having to worry about the accident.Service: Vehicle safety inspection

I was visiting from Denver when I damaged my car and he was so accommodating to try to fit me in over the weekend. He was very friendly and knew what he was doing. I definitely recommend Daniel for auto repair!

Dans Auto Repair was able to beat AAA towing cost (in the snow and on a Sunday) to bring my car from where it broke down to his shop very quickly. He replaced the alternator and was finished with the car a day earlier (and a week earlier than anyone else had time) than he thought. He had excellent communication and made everything easy. Expenses are high in Taos and I felt he kept the cost down to help us out.
