The pieces in there are quite beautiful and amazing to look at and observe. They have extremely knowledgeable people working there that know almost everything about the works and pieces inside. It is so beautiful to look around and see everything. There isn't another place nearby that would have this type of ancient and amazing work.

I love Mr. Oviedo's sculptures. They have life and beauty. His workshop is so welcoming ( with cats) and his story from birth to today is a fascinating story. Determination, belief in himself, seeing the best in others, overcoming obstacles ... a real inspiration. I wish I had more of his sculptures!

Marco Oviedo creates beautiful bronze sculptures that range from secular to whimsical. He and his wife are warm & welcoming and provided lots of fascinating detail about Marco’s process of creating these one-of-a-kind and limited-edition pieces, from conception to casting to finishing. We were entranced both by Marco and his artwork, and happily purchased one of his pieces for our home. I highly recommend a visit to his gallery/studio.

Marco Oviedo is a master sculptor using processes developed by his family hundreds of years ago. This is the kind of art that is dying out, at least in this country. Absolutely worth a visit. His work is not only gorgeous, it's a great investment.

I have visited Oviedo's gallery for several years and am always moved by the beauty of his sculptures. He is a master bronze sculptor and specializes in the themes of New Mexico including the Catholic and the Indigenous traditions. You can purchase or just browse, but if you wish to purchase, there are all sizes of sculptures in all price ranges. He is a master craftsman and his work is extraordinary.

We were walking through the Hotel La Fonda in Santa Fe and there was a display of this artists work, and they were so stunning that we decided to visit his gallery. We saw that the gallery was on the high road near Chimayo and so when we took that day trip from Taos to Chimayo we went. The artists wife was there and told us all about his process and the history of his work. The gallery is on the same location as their home, and a farm, and it is a beautiful place. Marco Oviedo is the artist and his woodcarving and bronze work is the most beautiful art I've seen in a long time. He does traditional 'santo' type sculptures, and all types of other work, in both bronze and wood. Each piece has a story, and his wife explained each one to us. We were in awe. His work is pricey, because it is bronze and the process is incredibly complicated and time consuming, not to mention immaculate and intricately done. We each purchased bronze fetishes, but someday I want to get a large piece! Even if you don't buy anything, (there is no pressure to purchase), that still go to see this art and hear the story. One cool thing, is the next day we were at the Millicent Rogers museum in Taos, and we saw two of Oviedo's sculptures in the museum!! This is definitely a must-see place!

The most meaningful gifts I will be giving this holiday season are my bronze artwork purchased at Oviedo Carvings and Bronze. I bought two roadrunners, a gecko, and a gila monster. The weight and feel of the sculptures warm the heart, and the colors are earthy with gold accents and undersides. Most importantly, their expressions perfectly capture the character of these desert animals! Although no one can fully appreciate the labor of love it takes to make just one, I hope the Oviedos never retire their craft. Thank you for these gifts!

Some really beautiful paintings are a feast for the eyes. They have work of the gallery owner as well as other artists. A friendly donkey too!

Located on a hilltop with a fabulous view of the New Mexico landscape along the High Road to Taos, this gallery is a “must see†for any art lovers who appreciate the fine art of sculpture in its most meaningful and creative form. These are not your standard “statuesâ€, these are wood carved and bronze sculptures that range from miniature to monument-size pieces. Crafted through tradition and inspired by landscape, history and culture; many incorporate movement into their form adding a unique balance of interaction with the simple act of viewing and admiring. Marco Oviedo, the artist, and his wife, Pat are warm and gracious and are happy to share background information on the art. If you're in the market to purchase, this is the place to visit—if you're just looking, this is the place to visit, drool and dream about being able to purchase in the future! Be sure to ask about their work with the animals on the property as well (breeding Mammoth donkeys, Spanish-cross horses and Churro sheep). A delightful way to spend an afternoon.

Just to let Yelpers know...I received the piece of art one year later. Better late than never!
