We heard a pop and there we were, broken down at 8pm on Sunday night and we just so happened to pull off right in front of Lucky's auto salvage. What could have been hours of waiting for a tow or someone who had a full jack set turned into a 5 min pit stop as Lucky came out and helped us change the tire as we sat in the warm car and he froze - and filled our spare with air.

The gentleman that owns this business really knows how to take care of people. My cousin and I were hauling a piece of heavy equipment from Tularosa to Southern Colorado. One of the tires on our trailer blew out, we had everything to change it besides the correct size socket for the lug. We were able to slowly drive to his shop and was ready with the correct size impact and a Jack. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name but if you’re hesistant on giving this shop a visit, don’t be!

We broke down between Carrizozo and Bingham in a wheelchair accessible van, with our daughter in a 250 lb electric wheelchair. Roadside. Assistance couldn't find us any help. A friend called Lucky who came to help even though he'd only had 3 hours sleep! He figured out to move the wheelchair onto my husband's truck bed using his tow truck. We are so thankful for his help. We were lucky to find Lucky!

I was deep in the desert in my old 2001 subaru forester when I noticed a sound or was it the dirt road??Just as the dust settled I wound up inCarrizozo when I noticed the sound was definitely my car....but, looking around I got nervous...I called carrizozo auto salvage on Sunday (shop is closed on sunday)But LUCKY picked up the phone anyway!!Lucky is a TRUE ROAD ANGEl!!!By the following morning lucky had checked out my carordered the parts hrs away and had them deliveredworked on my car until the sun went downReplacing back brakesHub assembly bearingsChecked out and topped off my fluids!And I was able to drive out by the following night!He is hands down a good person!There are people left in this world who will help you when you need it!We hung at the shop and made friends with all the wonderful locals and the wonderful police officer!I never had a boring moment the day I spent on the auto salvage!Lucky gave me an interesting tour of the grounds!Fascinating stories of wrecks etc...I am now done with my trip and made it home safe back to Arkansas!That was one of the best parts of the trip...beleive it or not!It's been a month long journey driving since i left luckys ...andPurdy blue (named by carrizozo locals)held up!Five million golden stars for this place!Lucky is a trueROAD ANGEL who even called me to make sure my car made it to AZ!!You could not break down in a better isolated place on this earth!I will be back to visit!

Lucky is absolutely amazing! My family and I ran out of gas late in the evening but despite the time he came out to help. Unfortunately we had additional car troubles arise and he went above and beyond to help us. He explained everything and the price for everything he had to do was VERY REASONABLE.

Lucky is the guardian angel of down on their luck Road-trippers who have been hit with car troubles in the desert. He spent 3 days working on our camper van that seemed to need a new fuel filter, and also happened to have bad fuel. Lucky and Austin were very nice and dedicated to helping us. Lucky knows a good deal about cars, semi’s, and our E7 engine vehicle. And he didn’t cost a pretty penny, which is very friendly considering he doesn’t have much competition out here! He was nice enough to drive us to a motel for the night after towing our van. Very nice guy, ask him about his Native American arrow heads!
