Always closed?!?! It is 12:20 on a Friday. Your website is claiming open but when I call it says closed and then it has the audacity to tell me if it’s an emergency they will charge me a $200 fee. I’m sorry you’re probably gonna laugh but I don’t have $200 EXTRA to fork up for you guys On top of whatever fees you’re gonna charge me for the actual work that you do. If the workers happen to be on a lunch break that should be in the call in the voicemail that you forced everyone to listen to you or you should post it on your website that says “hey we are closed from 12 to one” for Being the only animal clinic that’s open supposedly on Friday, maybe rotate out your lunches?? just a little opinion - girl with dead cat

Even when they are busy, Dr Young and his staff do their best to get everyone in and taken care of with friendliness and professional expertise.

I had a great experience with Dr. Young and his staff at this clinic. They took care of my little guy, the cost was super reasonable and everyone was friendly. I will be bringing my dogs back to see them again!

This the absolute best animal clinic! They are very kind and really have great concern for animals. My cat Tyry's life was saved due to their expertise. The staff are super! Brianna is very helpful and friendly. Solid 5 stars here folks.

Dr. Larry Young has set a professional standard of care that affects all pet and livestock owners and I felt it was worthy of sharing. As Chair of the veterinary board, Dr. Young made the motion to dismiss my complaint against a veterinarian who'd told me an area of my horse's sutured laceration looked fine, the oozing holes would close up, and not to worry. I later discovered this same area to be grossly infected; a large pocket of skin had developed at my horse's suture line, right where those holes had been oozing, and it was full of something that felt hot and squishy. I contacted the clinic again and my horse was placed back on medications and had to be provided additional care, while I had to pay additional expenses. It was quite obvious that the diagnosis and course of treatment had been wrong, but instead of educating the veterinarian so that hopefully something like this didn't happen again to another animal, Dr. Young dismissed my complaint because I hadn't vaccinated my horse for West Nile Virus. Why he would deem the level of care my horse received to be the acceptable standard is beyond me. How he could believe my horse's vaccination status had anything to do with how his wound had been diagnosed and treated is mind boggling. An expert opinion I got says that veterinarian committed negligence and malpractice. Dr. Young failed miserably at his duty to protect New Mexico animals and their owners from bad veterinarians. When I read the reviews about how he cares so much for animals, I just don't get it. It doesn't add up.

My dog needed to be seen. Could not get him seen in Carlsbad. Called Artesia Animal Clinic, and they saw him and even stayed until 8:30 at night to make sure he was taken care of.

Scheduling is ridiculous they completely over book appointment was at 4:30 still waiting at 6:00 never will return whoever is in charge of scheduling has no idea what they are doing... people don't have hours to sit and wait

Doc wasn't able to work on mare but he called in a vet who could..Check back later to make sure she was taken care of. What can I say best experiences always.If there's a kid d out there anywhere who wants to go to vet school our community should cough up their tuition and make it happen we all have more animals than ever before but there's no one out there taking over for our veteran veterinarians. God Bless each and every one of them.
