I am glad to see many positive reviews for this “Community Walgreens” at San Mateo and Lomas. My several experiences at the Community Walgreens have not been very positive at all.
It is situated in what is easily one of Albuquerque’s worst ‘parking lots’. Years ago, I stopped using the UPS Store two doors down, simply because of the very hard to manage unsafe parking lot. While a minor consideration for some, you must deal with this situation arriving and departing.
I am caregiver for my partner who has lupus and two other autoimmune diseases, needing many scrips. An earlier scrip used to be mailed to our home by this Community Walgreens in a refrigerated box(!) 5 Stars to that service.
Not this time around: In order to ease my many errands, my partner filled out paperwork to have a new scrip (after picking up first one) to also be ‘mailed’ to our home. After receiving the new scrip in person, I mentioned that from here out this scrip was to be mailed. In a surreal conversation that followed, I was told my partner must call first to request a ‘delivery’ EACH TIME IT IS REFILLED. Was filling out online paperwork request for this not satisfactory?…No! Well, I am requesting that now as her (registered with you also online) caregiver that it be mailed. No! Well, what if I call you now while standing here in person requesting delivery? No!
This office behind heavily secured front door is bigger than it appears. All personnel wear phone head sets. To the left is a bank of attended computer screens. To the right, a gregarious ‘lunch’ (?) going on behind closed doors. This tiny storefront is buzzingly “hopping”, so WHY the inability to accept my partner’s online and my in person request to mail the next refill without having to CALL this busy place?
Surreal, yes. Wish I could rate my several experiences with this Community Walgreens higher.

I wish I knew that this Community store is really just for filling special prescriptions (like insulin for diabetes). No OTC stuff. I was happy to notice it initially as the regular Walgreens at Central and San Mateo (Albuquerque, NM) has been CLOSED down leaving this area in the SE without. Really was a shock to have both Walgreens AND the nearby Walmart discontinued - due to excessive shoplifting according to several employees. A BIG LOSS for this community.

I just had a random guy at Walgreens make a real ‘life or death’ decision for me that nearly cost me my life. I’m still fighting this - so pray for me.I had a wound that wouldn’t heal and I know why. While waiting for that treatment, this new prescription would carry me through safely. Regenex- It is a leading topical gel with platelets in it to protect the wound and promote healing. It is also very, very expensive.It was so expensive this guy at Walgreens thought I should not have it; that I would not want it. He doesn’t know my situation, my HSA account balances or that I am covered at 100% having met my plan total out of pocket. He just decided.For two weeks I, my doctors staff, and finally the insurance company, tried to get this filled. Finally the insurance company walked him through the input process and, when I called, he was literally mansplaining about the prices. I was livid.Sepsis is now one of the top three killers in most states. Sepsis is a common bacterial infection that spreads. On the day this fool finally relented I was rushed to the ER with complications from a swollen, infected lymph node and severe cellulitis. It has been the most excruciatingly painful week of my life and I still can not walk.I can not walk…All because this guy I do not even know decided I couldn’t have the medicine prescribed to prevent exactly this situation.I have the absolute best coverage possible and the best ancillary coverage available. I almost lost this round this week.Haven’t we had enough of other people interjecting their opinions in our personal health? You would be amazed at what is available and coming on the horizon.Would you like to have access to that? #M4A to end this nightmare for everyone.I did end up in the hospital for two weeks and another ten days in a rehabilitation center. Thanks random guy. Fortunately I survived.

This is the only Walgreens I have ever had a good experience with. Staff is beyond helpful with filling RX! They even ship my dexcom to my home since I don't live in the city! I can't say how grateful I am for all their help. Diabetes sucks, but people like this help ease some of the stress! Thank you

The pharmacy staff member that answers the incoming calls (I think her name is Michelle) is always so helpful and kind. Very patient with odd questions and friendly. With life as crazy as it is right now, kindness goes a long way. Thank you.

i had to give one star based on how many people were cursing at the cashiers and store clerks, i didnt have much of an experience but i guess people don't really like this location, i've heard patrons requesting to use the restroom only to be denied due to covid, but then patrons proceeded to pee on the floor in the store and in the parking lot. just not a place you wanna be i feel.

Very nice employees, location? Not a good one. If you’re visiting I’d suggest you avoid most central locations late evening or at night

We got a really bad flat and had to park in the parking lot that had 3 stores and the Walgreens community was on. I went in to let them know we had a flat and if we could park there until we get a new tire they were awesome. The supervisors said it was OK and the other gentlemen that was a supervisor jumped up right away and offered to help us and asked if we had a spare tire!! They were just so unbelievably WONDERFUL thank you so much !! I am going to be moving pharmacies. And I will be referring people here as well

This is a very private experience nothing like the Walgreens typical experience there is a doorbell on the door you are not able to enter unless you're buzzed in it is a very private and the providers are incredibly intelligent and take good care of their customers I look forward to doing more business with these folks
