Simply Diego's
3301 Menaul Blvd NE, AlbuquerqueI feel confident shopping here because I don't need to worry about whether the brands are good for my kitties. Initially, I thought this place was a bit expensive, but after multiple visits, I prefer buying from such local shops with friendly staff. I highly recommend this shop for all your pet needs.

Arie's Dogland LLC
3530 Pan American Fwy NE suite h, AlbuquerqueAries is a wonderful place for puppies! Everyone there genuinely loves and cares for dogs. Arie is a great trainer and we can't recommend her enough. The 6-week puppy training class is top notch and well worth the very reasonable price. We learned so much about how to train our Golden retriever, Sam, and we feel far more confident than we did going in. The puppy play groups are a great opportunity to socialize during the critical window between 2-4 months old, since all the puppies are vetted to be healthy, have stool tests, and are up to date on vaccinations (what one's they can have for their age).
Overall, we love Aries Dogland, our dog LOVES it, and we highly recommend it if you're looking for training, day care, or grooming.

9800 Montgomery Blvd NE UNIT 13, AlbuquerqueI love taking my dog here! All of the employees give her little treats as we walk around the store! She used to bark when people popped around a corner like walking around an aisle, but now she just wags her tail hoping to find an employee to say hello. Staff are very helpful and always available to help you find what you need.

Predator and Prey Exotics
3625 Central Ave NE, AlbuquerqueAmazing store! I can't believe I waited so long to visit. I could only stop by for a short while today, but the knowledge and passion present here is evident. The animals seem very well-cared for and have nice enclosures. The supply selection is small, but very well-priced. The wood in particular was far cheaper than at the other stores I've visited. This is also the only place I've been to that carried Bio Dude products, which is a huge plus. Definitely stop by if you can! It's a small operation, but it's clear how much they care about their animals and the exotics hobby as a whole.

ABQ Cat Grooming
2217 Lead Ave SE, AlbuquerqueWe brought my senior CKD girl, Queenie, to this location for a lion cut to address matting on her back legs and stomach after failing to handle it ourselves at home. We worried she would fight, resist, or become nervous beyond what a groomer could or would handle. Despite this being her first visit for grooming of any kind, Queenie did well and came home beautiful and mat-free! The owners are lovely professionals who clearly take their work seriously. She was finished in the exact time frame estimated (3 hrs), and the cost was very reasonable for the amount of time spent and delicate work performed. She got lots of love and compliments. Queenie is naked but feeling much better, and immediately went back to her snacks and treats once we got home. I highly recommend ABQ Cat Grooming for your speciality grooming needs.

Poochini Pet Grooming
South Side Entrance, 7007 Jefferson St NE # E, AlbuquerqueI've gone a couple times now to have my two long hairs dachshunds groomed and they have done a great job each time. My dogs seem happy and relaxed when I pick them up. It's important to plan ahead because they are booked out quite far. They leave the dogs out to wander around the salon so they are not in a cage before or after which is nice but I was a little worried about my small 10lb dogs being with larger breeds. They do have a smaller room that's separate but I didn't see any dogs in there the times I visited.

Pet Care

Manzano Animal Clinic
1041 Juan Tabo Blvd NE, AlbuquerqueTLDR: Affordable, easy to schedule, caring staff, efficient, honest, and did not push sales of other services or medications.
I made an appointment with them because they were the only veterinary clinic that could see my dog in under a month.
I was pleasantly surprised by how kind and caring the staff was and the short wait time to be seen. The veterinarian clearly explained what happened to my dog, Patellar luxation, and what I would have to do in the long run about this. Apparently it is common and will happen again.
She did not push surgery, medication, or any other unnecessary medical treatments for my dog. On the contrary she explained that proper vigilance and swift action thereafter would be the best long term treatment. She explained multiple surgeries would cause scare tissue and may be counter productive in terms of treatment.
Now the price was much less than I had imagined. For context at TLC I paid $300 for them to examine my dog when she had the flu. I didn't recieve any medication and was told to feed her baby food. Here they examined my dog explained treatment options and I only paid $65. It would have been 130, but they offered me a half price discount for it being my first visit.
I came to them because I had no other choice. But their treatment, kindness, and honesty made me decide to make them my new go to veterinary clinic for my dogs.

Eye Care for Animals - Albuquerque
8724 Alameda Park Dr NE # C, AlbuquerqueMy dog has an eye growth that came back after cryo removal 18 months ago at a vet in Massachusetts, but he is also very old dog so I wanted to make sure another procedure was the right thing. The vet was incredibly knowledgeable, very kind, communicated well, and really helped me assess my options. We even found things with his eye we did not expect and she presented realistic tests and options for it. My dog is pretty growly and he calmed right down with the vet tech. We have not done the procedure yet but I have no doubt that will also be a positive experience. Also, the reason we have not done the procedure is because they did not pressure me to it, they actually advised waiting to see what happens, which I know is not money in their pocket so I appreciate that I did not have to fight for that option.

Everyone there, from the nice woman who greets you, and checks your buddy in, to the medical assistants, and the doctor: ALL of them are VERY helpful, and clearly exclusively concerned in what is best for the health of your pet! Needless to say, I was very pleased (Sam less so, because he doesn’t like needles ?), and we will continue to take Sam to De Anza, for as long as we remain in Los Lunas (for residents of Los Lunas: this place is quicker to get to than places in Los Lunas proper, if you live on the west side; believe it or not…)

From Wags To Whiskers-Best Pet Sitter/Dog Walker in Abq
214 Edith Blvd SE, AlbuquerqueTo be clear, due to my cat having a medical emergency we did not end up hiring them in the end, but in speaking to the owner I was very excited to see how knowledgeable and passionate she is about the care of cats. My cat has a urinary condition that requires quick action should he have an episode, and where other less-professional sitters would blindly agree to watch, she made sure to understand every detail of his condition and prepare me should a flareup occur while I was out of town. She was very cautious in warning me of the risk, alerting me that her visits would not necessarily be adequate confirmation of his health, and was very thorough in explaining details of medications and making suggestions even after I ended up canceling.I cannot speak to the quality of the service itself, but I would certainly come here before a petsitting board.

She's afraid of a lot of stuff like my other rescue dog, PheeBee (chihuahua mix). But Khloe likes being inside, so she's fine. PheeBee, on the other hand, likes it outside.
The adoption process was really easy. I had gone in last week, but Khloe had to be fixed. So I waited a week (6/24/25) and brought her to her forever home. She's going to love living here. My Yorkipoo wants to play with her, but Khloes is not sure what to do. Time...
