I tried to come in 20 minutes before closing and she told me to leave. Very unwelcoming and rude. Would not recommend

it was not a good experience, as I walked in 10 minutes before closing time I was told you know we're closing. I had to ask if it's OK if I look around... Instead of them asking, is there something specific you need which is what I was looking for, something specific. I was told I guess I can look around but we are closing. Sandy was absolutely rude and unhelpful which is unfortunate customer service all around.

Overheard a volunteer talking to 2 customers. Conversation was in reference to anti immigrants and their children in schools. I was offended by her view point.

Some great finds here, with reasonable prices. As others noted, they only take donations on certain days so you’d have to call ahead and make sure they’re accepting on the day you want to come by.

Unfortunately I tried to donate Saturday and went out of my way to support the cause. However NO Donation was accepted ?. I shared I had gone out of my way, but the cashier indicated All Donations are ONLY accepted on certain days.My recommendation to PAWS is to post on website and outside signage WHEN Donations are accepted. And YES, the cashier AGREED there are many Other organizations that need GREAT items...I moved on with my donations....

The racial comments and the no children are off putting. I won't visit this place again. There's no reason for owners/ workers to behave like that. I had a iffy experience once before and now seeing these posts it comfort my previous suspensions. There's no excuse for being racists!

Absolutely garbage. The old white lady, who wouldn't give me her name, who also said she was owner of this place, decided it was MY fault I overheard her being racist about me. She told the other worker that she "wasn't even sure that lady didn't walk out with something." There were only 4 people in at the time, 3 who were together and myself. So I confronted her and told her she'll get none of my business if she feels that way and I walked out. She then FOLLOWED me to my car and tried to tell me that she couldn't be racist because she has "several close native American friends." Could not make this up, folks. I'm not even indigenous! Racist. Also, said some gibberish about me never having worked retail, when that has been most of my adult work experience. This is relevant because she thinks that because she works retail she instinctively knows who will steal. I.E. RACIST. Despite my car being in gear and me trying to leave she refused to let me leave. After a could of minutes she finally got out of the way so I could leave. I don't recommend AT ALL.

I wasn't aware the the location at Menaul had shut down and thought that the one on Juan Tabo was just a new store closer to my house. Imagine my excitement when I thought a store I loved branched out and opened a new location. Went there for the first time today only to overhear one of the shop owners, Beverly, talking about how she "wasn't even sure if that lady(me) walked out with anything." She couldn't see me because I was in the little room looking at books, cds, and dvds. I know she was talking about me because it was only myself and a different group of 3 in the shop at the time. When I told her that I wouldn't be giving her my business then and left SHE PROCEEDED TO FOLLOW ME TO MY CAR and wouldn't let me leave. She made it seem like it was my fault that I "overheard" her being racist towards me instead of it being her fault for just being racist. She proceeded to say she couldn't be racist because she has "close native American friends" and didn't like when I told her saying that makes her sound even more racist. This is only a few of the ignorant things she said while she had me trapped in the parking lot. It's a shame really because I have gotten so many wonderful things over time from this shop but I will NEVER give them any of my time and money again. I just thought others would like to know what type of person partially owns this shop. I hope you do some deep reflection into your thoughts and actions and grow as a person from this experience.

Highly under rated thrift. The front storefront portion is only a small bit of the whole place. It is cat rescue focused/run and the ladies who work here are so nice. The front is more smalls collectibles and larger back is more of the general thrift store stuff. I marked down 1 star due to the slightly deceiving front and the slightly disorganized back portion. But if you are willing to dig definite finds. I got a recycled coffee bag tote $3 and some great water shoes for $5. And saw some other collectibles that were priced really well including beautiful original art. Hours are more limited than larger stores but it's worth the wait/find
