I am a retired cosmetologist so I should have known better at the type of haircut gone wrong once the hairstylist started cutting. I requested a long-haired, asymmetrical haircut. Mind you my hair was almost to my waist when I walked in. The hairstylist I was assigned stated she specialized in these haircuts. After washing my hair, she pulled my hair way up getting on a step stool since it was long and she cut straight across, not even measuring. Basically, she gave me a Bob haircut with long pieces left in the front. I was so disappointed. She used the excuse that I had layers and that is why she ended up having to cut so much off, that is not the case on how this haircut should’ve gone. Then I was reminded that I only had 30 minutes since it was on a scheduled time. She didn’t style or blow dry my hair. She said I was done. For $60 This is what I got. I was willing to pay over $100 for a haircut I had originally requested . None of this was explained to me. So JCPenney’s please make sure that your hairstylist are professional enough to do a haircut that is requested, and if they cannot, please have them be honest and say so. Luckily, my hair grows like weeds, and I was finally able to get a professional to correct it and form The shape I originally wanted. Please keep in mind I warned by others not to go there if I wanted a professional cut style. The people were nice. I’m not complaining about that but if you want something very detailed, this is not the place.

Got a haircut here today 9/22/2023 around 2pm. My hair was cut super uneven. I requested for face frame, 5 Inch cut and layers. Hair is very uneven. No layers. Uneven face frame. Ugly. I live 2hrs from Albuquerque. Thank you to the Puerto Rican lady named Doris who messed up my hair. She has light brown hair with 2 blonde streaks in front. A lady named Liz issued me a refund.

Star is the best of the best. She takes the time to understand your wants and needs. She provides positive feedback and gives good advice. I have been going to her for years and will continue to do so. It's always been hard to find the perfect hairdresser/stylist but I've obviously found her. I highly recommend!Services: Hairstyling

Oh my goodness, I scheduled an appointment in advance for highlights specifically! My first mistake was telling the stylist that this was my first time being to a salon. I get there and tell the stylist was like ok I’ll give you a consultation what are you looking for? I tell her what I want and is is negative fist hand!! Going on about how light I want it and is the color will hold because I want a “10 level of blonde.” She says let’s do a trial run bleaches one strand of my hair for 45 minutes and says it will work but we will have to reschedule because I will not have time. Wow 2 hours of my life for a lecture on possibilities with results I expected. I WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULING!!! I will take my business where they have time.Service: Hair coloring

I wanted 4 inches taken off the length and about 7 inches was cut. Good thing my hair WAS to my lower back. Still traumatized and it's been 3 weeks! Won't go back to that stylist. Meanwhile my daughter's cut was perfect.

I was extremely hesitant to try a new place to get my color done, but I'm very glad that I did. While the receptionist was a bit rude, my stylist was wonderful and my color came out exactly as I wanted it. It was a bit cheaper than my normal place as well, so that was a plus. Made an appointment for 215 was taken back late because Sara was doing another customer. Finally get taken back and after washing my hair she says she can’t do it because I had a little glue from extensions in. I combed it out , but she and her supervisor still didn’t want to cut it because she said she wouldn’t have enough time due to her still doing highlights on another customer. Why do you let me make an appointment for that time if you can’t do it! Total waste of time!!!! Supervisor was just as lame. Frankly I don’t think that Sara was able to do the style I wanted or was too scared!I Will NEVER recommend this place or ever come here again!!Service: Hairstyling

Yesterday I went for a full highlight to fix my roots I have medium blonde hair and light blonde highlights. I went to JCP that last 2 times. I saw Dana in June and she did a good job. Then Devon in September and I was very sad that she left. This time I saw Breanna she was very friendly. I told her I wanted to keep what I already had and fix the roots. My hair is now an awful redish blonde shade which I said I did not want and she left product in my hair which I didn't feel until I left the salon. they were closing as she was finishing my hair so there was not much to be done besides going home and washing it out. I called after I washed it out and left a message. I called again today and no one answered so I left another message. Anytime I call it just goes to voicemail and they are open. It is very frustrating since it was $163 after tip and my hair looks horrible.Service: Hair colouring

I got a perm done and after a few days later it wasn’t even permed. I also got a burn mark on my neck from when the lady use the solution. I called and they said I’ll get a redo over. The day of my appointment I couldn’t make it in time cause I was told my appointment was at 1pm. Yet they said 12pm so the lady that did my hair said she well let me know she has another availability but I waited all day and nothing from her. So I called yesterday and no one answered at the salon so I left a voicemail for someone to call me back. Still nothing on there end. But they are the worst and my hair still straight but now fuzzy as well. This is the worst place ever.Service: Hairstyling

Check your employees... Star. She runs her fingers in my husband hair, moved it around for a while, then straight out says "I don't know what to do with this". Really?!! Why the hell would you even touch the hair, let alone work at a salon, if you don't know what to do with hair? Needless to say, my husband got up from the chair feeling embarrassed because that CU next Tuesday couldn't even treat a client correctly. Oh, and no one offered their apologies or anything. Only one good experience there from Devon. Unfortunately because of Star, we won't be going back and we will be sure to never suggest the salon and tell everyone how poorly experienced and unkind the staff is.

NO-GO! If I could give zero stars I would, reason for the one is bc the manager had consideration to refund my money due to one of her employees NOT doing (even close) to what I wanted. Make sure you TRUST w/ your hair before letting them touch it.
