Horrible customer service. My Home Purchase Advisor Joana was very rude, accusatory, and condescending. She had a disgusting attitude towards me and did not want to help me at all.
I thought this was the place to go for help, as all of my friends have had wonderful experiences here. I was met with an interrogation, and then accused of not only misfiling my personal taxes but also accused of not even working. She was doing this with all of my personal information on screen, that proved what I was saying. My understanding of this visit was to crunch numbers and give over the necessary information to get the process started, not to be interrogated and questioned about my personal life. After being demeaned, belittled, insulted, and accused, I get an email immediately telling me that they will not be able to help me purchase a home. I went in the next day to report this to the manager and was greeted with silence. I was not given an apology on behalf of the employee who repeatedly insulted my intelligence and discriminated against me due to my financial status. All I was asked is"do you want to continue with us?" and then was escorted from the premises.
I would not recommend this place to pursue home ownership, they're very biased in who they want to help, which is a shame because I pursued them due to the fact that their website says "We have a proven process of working with clients at all levels—from first time homebuyers to existing homeowners looking for their next new home." .

This class is a nightmare...The instructor's incessant self-promotion and pointless activities were beyond infuriating. It was a complete waste of time and made me feel like a fool. I couldn't bear to stay until the end, as the whole experience left me seething with frustration and embarrassment. I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I discourage anyone from attending this class. Here are a few suggestions to improve the class:1. Streamline the content: CONDENSE the class duration to fit the ESSENTIAL information within a REASONABLE time frame, ensuring the participants don't feel overwhelmed or bored2. MINIMIZE self-promotion: Focus on delivering VALUABLE and unbiased information rather then using the class as a PLATFORM FOR ADVERTISING. This will help maintain the INTEGRITY of the learning experience3. Engage participants EFFICIENTLY: Instead of FORCING participants to discuss hypothetical scenarios without proper instruction, provide clear and concise GUIDANCE throughout the class. Encourage interactive discussions and address any questions or concerns that arise.4. Provide comprehensive materials: Instead of using a book with key words and information blanked out, offer participants a comprehensive guidebook that they can refer to DURING and after the class. This way, they can review the information at their own pace and have a TANGIBLE recourse to rely on.5. RESPECT PARTICIPANTS TIMES AND INTELLIGENCE!: Treat participants as capable adults by avoiding CONDESCENDING activities or UNNECESSARY exercises. Ensure that every activity and discussion is PURPOSEFUL and CONTRIBUTES to their understanding of home ownership.Implementing these suggestions would create a more efficient, informativ, and RESPECTFUL learning experience. The classes' method might work for highly agreeable, social and inexperienced participants, but not everyone is like that.

Recent c communications with Claudia and Lee (Leon) at Homewise have been a great experience. They each took plenty of time to talk to me and fully understand what I needed, and provide me with a wealth of information and knowledge via phone and email. Even though they knew that moving to New Mexico is only a future possibility for my family, and that I might not actually become a client, they still gave me their undivided attention and made me feel like a valued customer. Thank you for such wonderful service so far!

Homewise thank you so much for being there for me and my daughter we couldn’t have done this without your support we appreciate everyone that works there we have had nothing but good experience from day one with a lady name Vivana, she taught me how to build my credit from there it took about 2-3 years before I went back in, and then jazz Monica Rochelle Jeanette the list goes on all these people have a job to do, if you really want a house then listen to what they tell you, and my little hack for anyone in the future would be (don’t throw any paperwork away nothing) ! bank statements to stubs… at first it may seem overwhelming, but just do what they ask you to do and get everything they need, if you want a home then you have to follow what they say if they want bank stuff 5 x for different reason get it if they ask 10x for the same stuff they ask for last week then you need to get it so my suggestion is don’t throw anything away because you need the same doc for different reasons for different people you will be asked for w2 you will be ask for work stubs more than once just keep everything on the table because you will need is again, and then right before you close they may ask for the same stuff again they have reasons behind doing this they have to monitor different things for different reason but at the end of the road there is a Rainbow ? and the reward is bigger than you can imagine we made some mistakes we got a home with a flat roof , that’s the thing with being a homeowner you have to figure things out, and learn to do things yourself and when it’s only Women in the home you do things you never thought you would be doing, I became my own exterminator, and it may not look right the first time you have to do it again and at first you don’t succeed try again, it’s very different from renting because the landlord took care of everything haha, if your having issues reach out to someone at Homewise you never know what they can and can not do for you but again Homewise to the recuse Monica ,Marlene awesome lady and Yessica thank you ???? #homewise #happyhome #youtubevideos I uploaded a couple of photo before and after kitchen cabinets and granite countertops were installed now we’re working on the roof which I hope we never have problems with again… Homewise can only do so much so if you really want a home you have to be willing to put 110% believe me I was bugged in the beginning I said why are they asking for something they just ask for yesterday ? Well I understand why they did what they did there is a reason behind everything they do.. ? one more thing, when your home searching you will know the right house for you when you walk in you will feel it …. I could not list everyone name because they is so many people involved but thank you to everyone. From nelly, & maria

Without Homewise, becoming a first time homeowner would have been a lot more difficult and expensive. After taking courses from Homewise and working on improving my finances to become a qualified purchaser, I was ready in about one-year to purchase my home. Once I was qualified Homewise was there 100% to answer my questions, ensure my mortgage was a fixed rate and appropriate for my budget and income level, structured my loan to avoid PMI, and even served as my realtor (Ambrose rocks!) which gave me the confidence that I wasn’t being taken advantage of as a single woman and first-time home buyer. Homewise even found a $2500 grant to apply towards my purchase. Homewise set me on the path to affordable and sustainable homeownership at 31 years old and I’ll always be grateful to this fantastic organization, it’s such an asset to our state and for New Mexicans. The negative reviews here are bizarre - of course Homewise will run your credit score - you’re applying for a mortgage! Running a credit score while applying for a mortgage is standard practice everywhere. Also, the home buying process isn’t something that happens overnight, and expecting it to then complaining in a Google review shows you are not yet prepared or informed enough to buy a home, not the fault of a non-profit that has helped New Mexicans throughout the state successfully navigate the home buying process.

If it wasn't for a lady at Roosevelt Park who told me about Homewise, who knows how things would have turned out ! I have bad hip issues and was unable to work enough to keep payments up on my old home, I stayed with a friend for over a year through a surgery. When the perfect home was available I was in perfect shape to purchase and have been so VERY HAPPY since then . THANK YOU HOMEWISE for making a home possible!

If I could have rated them 0 stars,I would! They keep you waiting ,asking you for lots of stuff, they're never satisfied.Once they can't ask you for anything else to ruin your life, they will tell you they can't help you! What a nice way to make you waste your time...Their workers are under salary,so they don't really give a dime about helping others!totally unprofessional and incompetent!...

I had contacted them about a property (with their banner) in Barelas. After a lot of runaround, I finally spoke with someone and he said the building is their own building and not available. Of course. Then I said I'm looking for a small, commercial property in or around Barelas. And I said what my cash budget is. He said it wasn't enough, as they had other properties available for $300k + and suggested I could mortgage my home. Having no interest in losing my home to gentrification, I kept shopping around and found something in a more appropriate area for my work and paid cash and didn't have to risk my home

They are terrible, take forever to do their job and making excuses to push closing dates. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

They're very helpful, I've had my mortgage with them for a few years. They also had the lowest interest rate for refinancing in town.
