I understand that it is a hotel only to rest on the route, but this one takes the prize of all the ones I have been to, the rooms with the smell of cigarettes, the sheets and duvets burned by cigarettes, garbage between the bed and the covered bathroom, we ended up sleeping for 4 hours (we only took off our tennis shoes) and we went out to look for another place the next day so we could take a bath.Rooms: They need urgent maintenance, they need to change mattresses, sheets and duvets and clean them.

I've stayed here many times over the last two years. I paid full price and then used my rewards night this week and was given the wrong room because the other rooms weren't clean. No big deal as I understood not having the right staff. I went back again later and was told that because I was using more rewards points, that I was supposedly cheating the owner out of money and he wouldn't accept my reservation. Due to this, I plan on not returning to this location. I did nothing wrong and it was pretty embarrassing the way he ranted at us for using our rewards points to make a reservation. The rooms are decent but the service from the general manager was outrageous.

Me and my boyfriend are homeless, big deal but we are very clean ppl. We pick up after ourselves. Even around our camp site. We even sanitize our tent. The only thing we don't have is a bathroom to shower. So we go to Econolodge NOWHERE ELSE but the rooms we've been getting don't have no bulbs, no towels, broken appliances n dirty. We've complained to manager but he seems to show no care cause we rent there all the time. First time we didn't have no problem cleaning the place n getting bulbs. Even before we checked out I gathered all the trash, wiped down everything. We've learned not to go u Der the sheets so we cover the bed with our sheets n blankets. $80 plus $50 deposit, come on what's really going on? N plus boyfriend ends up fixing the plumbing n clean the filters for heater n AC. we fix things not break things if that's what the deposit is for. I've lived in area for 10 years before we lost our apt but for these reasons no more Econolodge.Walkability: Close to bus lines

Carolyn here who's name is mentioned in the latest NEW review. Letting travelers know we are no longer assisting in the failed improvement at this establishment and would NOT recommend a stay here unless absolutely desperate. It's full of drug addict guests purchasing drugs from the latest "manager" and its disgustingly filthy. Security is NOT onsite so becareful, I was recently hired as Department detail there to improve the establishment for the owner who failed to communicate the details of my job description to the current staff. Which resulted in aggressive behavior towards myself and the team I was bringing on. We actively worked for two days without pay. In which time we improved about 6 rooms and a lot of Pink dyed laundry black greasy sheets and face towels utilized as cleaning rags until my arrival. Its gross, the owners so called management upfront a known drug-addict decided to become aggressive towards me in the absence of a male presence only. I have video of this unprofessional behavior he's known to get aggressive with women and we refuse to help since the owner did nothing about it. Our team deserves better.

New housekeeping management is amazingly helpful and attentive Department detail plans underway and new onsite security. This place already looks and smells better. Thank you Carolyn! Looking forward to my next stay!

I have used Choice Hotels for many years because of what I believe are their minimum standards for each property. However, the Econo Lodge East in Albuquerque, New Mexico, fell far below those standards during our recent stay there. It was probably one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I firmly believe it should be removed from Choice’s list of hotels. What follows is a list of reasons for my opinion:• On check-in the gentleman was nice but insisted we see the room before we checked-in. It reeked of cigarette smoke. He apologized that he didn’t have a list of the smoke-filled rooms. The second room was tolerable so we accepted it.• After settling into the room, we discovered there was no toilet paper. I went to the office and got a roll of toilet paper.• The toilet did not flush. I discovered the flapper was not connected so I fixed it.• We wanted to take showers, but discovered there was no soap. I again went to the office. The gentleman said he would bring some. After 5 minutes he found and delivered two bars of soap.• The sign-on to the wi-fi was unusual, but I was eventually successful. However, when I attempted to download a library book, the library website said the network was unsafe and would not allow access. I quickly disconnected from the network.• The bathroom sink drained very slowly. The half-filled sink drained by morning but quickly filled again while washing our hands and brushing our teeth.• During the night the person in the room above us was frequently walking around with heavy footsteps from 1:00 am to 4:30 am.• Breakfast display consisted of one loaf of bread, 5 bananas, a waffle maker (no syrup), and two choices of cereal (cheerios and frosted flakes). That was it. When we asked if there was butter, the gentleman (not the one at check-in), did not say anything but went into a back room and eventually brought out a container of syrup (that we didn't ask for) and put it on the office counter. Coffee consisted of two unmarked coffee pots. One contained cold coffee and the other luke warm coffee. There was a fruit juice device, but it was empty. On the positive side, the room was clean and the much needed refrigerator worked well.

NO TOWELS. NO OUTLETS. The TV didn't work. The sheets had holes. The door had no weather strip so the cold got in. The vanity in the bathroom had only one light bulb and it was red. Toilet had a broken seat. No soap or shampoo. Walls and floor had chips in them. And on top of all that they only give you 2 lump pillows. Good luck trying to get a good night rest here.

They didn't service the room. And i asked several times during the week stay. Unless you leave. You have to go to the office for everything and they don't have it most of the time. Avoid if possible.

I’m guessing a bad part of town as the hotels on this street all have metal gates in front. Red flag #1. Get into our room here, first thing I noticed: Old stale cigarette smoke. Red flag #2.Next thing I notice is a red blood stain on the folded over bed sheet. (Are you friggin kidding me?!). I pull back the sheet and there’s hair and weird debris inside the sheets (between fitted bottom sheet and top sheet). The two tiny pillows have stains marked all on the pillow cases. The bathroom has barely any towels. 1 hand. 1 floor. 2 bath. No wash cloths or extra anything.Red flag. Red flag. Red flag!!!!!Now listen up husbands, boy friends, significant others: I told my husband I’m not sleeping here. I’d rather take my chances with sleeping in the grimy looking bath tub before the bed. He gave me the eye roll. So I set the baby in his pack and play. Laid stiffly on top of the covers, with my arms under my head (I ain’t touching those pillows), and laid there getting cold until the baby fell asleep. Then I got up, turned the heat on (so baby won’t get cold), and now I’m planning on sleeping in the car in the parking lot. The whole idea behind driving all day and getting a hotel at night, is to have a CLEAN and SAFE place to sleep. This place is NOT clean and I don’t feel safe. Honestly we could’ve all slept in the car tonight - for free - and without any risks to our health or wellbeing. This place is disgusting. So for families or couples looking for a minimal, basic hotel room for the night but not wanting to spend a ton of money - but want something clean… THIS IS NOT IT. Husbands - take your wife away from here and put her and the baby somewhere else. You’ll thank me. Because now I’m sleeping in the car. Mad at my husband and we still have 2 more days of driving. Yeah … tomorrow is going to be fantastic. ? (insert heavy sarcasm).

Just not a good place to stay...holes in the bed covers...the main room light flickered like in some horror film. The lights by the bed...only one of them worked. There were no towels, so I went down to the front desk and asked for towels...they only had one to give and it was stained. Even the tv remote was all taped up like it had been shattered at some point ...

The owner was a money hungry judgemental rude A hole that any chance he would find a way to make a cent off you he would. And then to top it off I didn't have a key for my door for the first two almost three weeks I had to jump through my window and then one of his sons had asked me if I was okay I told him no I needed a key cause getting into my room through the window was getting old already so he walks me to my room opens the door and lets me inside while asking me if I stayed alone there then after we both walk in he shuts the door and locked it while I told him I stayed there by myself and when I said that he heard something from the room next door and proceeded to call me a liar but when I showed him it was just him and I I got a horrible feeling and walked to the door opened it and told him to leave. The next door neighbor was outside getting ready to walk his dog so then the office guy asked if he was my boyfriend which the whole thing was unprofessional and then finally the last thing when I checked out they checked my room and it was all good everything was there so I went to the office to get my deposit and come to find out DJ the owner took my deposit out like a week before I checked out for no reason at all...
