Can't believe I'd never bn here before! There's a great store one has to walk thru to get to the eatery. Cute stuff, eclectic collection. A bit pricey, but what isn't nowadays? There was a 30" wait for 2 ppl. The hosts were very nice, friendly, polite, efficient as they asked if booth would be ok - and handed us the buzzer thing. We lucked out with Gavin. Such a great soul. When queried, he gave terrific recommendations-- yes, get the butter on the tortilla! Just try it My friend luvd his huevos rancheros whereas my chilaquiles was terrific but far too big a serving; I ended up taking it home. Don't get wigged out by the appearance of my eggs: I asked for them to be runny; the chef was bang-on! And yes, voted best red chile in Albuquerque! And well-deserved imo. But I actually liked the green chile as well Andrew at the gift store check out is a real sweetheart too Oh, everyone seems to think the restaurant closes at 2 pm - but they don't! They close at 7 pm usually (Wednesdays thru Saturdays), I think 4 pm Sundays thru Tuesdays. But when we left the restaurant that had been chockfull at 1330 -we didn't get seated till 1400 - at 1500, there was only one customer left in the dining area; it was wild. I've included a photo of the hours (sorry for the glare)

Chili is good. The steamed potatoes are more like unseasoned mashed potatoes. Would be a lot better with some good seasoned crispy potatoes or even bagged hash browns might be better.

The food was so delicious! The service was amazing. It's like a little shop, pharmacy, and restaurant all in one! Very cool. They have a lot of cute knickknacks.

Awesome tasting authentic food! Serving size it's way more than enough. Plan on left overs! Good amount of heat. Enough to let ya know it's there but it doesn't kill the taste. Staff very friendly too!

I ate here with some colleagues over 20 years ago. Yesterday, since we couldn't get breakfast in the place I had planned in Santa Fe, we drove on to Duran's . I wanted to experience it again as I had fond memories of that previous time. The food was excellent and the staff was great. I had the breakfast enchiladas with red sauce. Very nice, a bit hot but l loved it. Wife had the green chile hamburger. It was very good as well. It is such a unique place . We had to get on the road, otherwise I would have liked to look at all the interesting gifts, cards and objects they had there. We did need to buy some medical supplies so we did that after the meal. Duran's is a ABQ treasure.

Loved my dining experience at Duran's. Everything was just delightful: the ambiance was authentic 1960's Route 66 diner, the service was prompt, super friendly and well-informed, the food was absolutely delicious. My wife opted for the Christmas Chili with beef topped with cheese and onions. This has to be one of our favorite chili's we've ever tasted in New Mexico - very beefy, great red chile flavor paired with some pretty decent heat from the green side. I had the stacked blue corn enchilada plate and loved it. The chile flavor mixed with the beef, cheese and beans was a winner. Did I mention the flour tortilla?!? These things are a meal in themselves and delicious. Anytime I'm in ABQ, I'll be thinking about stopping for another meal at Duran's Central Pharmacy.

This is a must stop in ABQ. Great everything-staff, food and prices. Ample parking makes this a convenient stop. Can't say enough about the quality of the Chile dishes and the soft warm buttered tortillas. Highly recommend

Duran’s always hits the spot! I usually get the huevos rancheros with a side of sausage, but today I went with the pork tamale plate and it was just as good. I recommend getting the entire plate smothered. Part of why I love Duran’s is because it is always consistent and the service is always great. Week days seem to be a little less crowded and the patio is nice if you like it a little less noisy. Highly recommend this place for a New Mexico breakfast or lunch.

My daughter brought me a chicken, green chili, tamale and some salsa and chips. It was excellent. Can't wait to go in person.

First trip to this institution and they did not disappoint. Cooking good green and red chili is a skill that comes from decades of practice and the chili here is perfection. Well worth the holiday wait. My breakfast burrito was smothered with both red and green. It was outstanding and was huge. Now I understand the reason why this place is so popular.
