Dr. Pacheco at Pearle Vision/Desert Mountain is great and I've been seeing her for my eye exams for the last couple of years. However, without any consideration for existing clients, they've recently changed their policy so you can no longer get an eye exam there if you're not going to buy glasses from them. Yeah, "nobody cares for your eyes more than Pearle".

I came in late in the day with the intention of making an appointment. The end result being, I had my exam, and ordered new glasses. Service is amazing, and a delight in a post COVID19 world where the Service concept as we knew it no longer exists for the most part.

Desert Mountain Eye Care is a great place to get your eye exam and glasses/comtacts. Everyone I worked with is great. Jasmine was very descriptive in what she was doing and Kat is always very friendly and helpful. Dr. Pacheco is very thorough and talks everything over and tries to find what is best for you. Highly recommend.

Dr. Pacheco is respectful of patient concerns and demonstrates a level of optometry expertise unparalleled by many other local providers. She took the time to test for and diagnose a frustrating vision problem I’ve struggled with my entire life. After years of misdiagnoses and glasses that didn’t address the problem or made it worse, it’s a relief to finally see clearly through my new glasses. The rest of the staff at Desert Mountain were friendly, prompt, and professional as well. I highly recommend!

They wanted to SCAM me! It was a horrible decision to go there. The initial exam was great until the $700 basic bill came around. They wanted to charge my insurance $300 and me $400. Basic frame. Then they wanted to add transitions, and no lines. To me $700 is the same as $7,000. When you pay for insurance and they want to double dip over all other places because they use a “HIGHER QUALITY LAB” I will still be able to see the same as I always have with no problems. I paid for my $151.00 exam, took my prescription and left. The tech was so rude after I told her I couldn’t afford to pay for that amount of money. I thought my insurance would cover the entire amount. I took my prescription to a competitor and they gave me a pair of glasses with ALL the bells and whistles and we had $4 left over while the insurance paid for the entire bill and then some!! I’m so sad because I waited a long time for this appointment while using an old prescription whilst the entire time I could have had my new glasses had I gone elsewhere. They still billed my insurance $110 plus I paid $42 cash. Others charge $79 for an exam, 2 frames from a nice selection, and bifocals!!!! included. WTH! I went to a Vision Center and all was taken care of! Thank God I had the wherewithal to leave with my prescription in hand. Scammers with the insurance companies for sure! So sad! Oh and after a while of me saying that I can’t pay that much, they didn’t even mention the fact that I could have chosen a much cheaper frame. I’m glad I left but it took 3 hours out of my schedule! Lesson learned.

As always the Eye Exam was thorough and Professionally done. The selection of frames was more than adequate. The prescription lens were reasonably priced. Overall, a wonderful experience. I’d recommend anyone that needs or think they need an eye exam and glasses to go see Pearl Vision Desert Mountain Eye Care. Friendly Professional Staff.

Based on the great reviews along with using pearl vision in 3 other states I was expecting a great experience.I scheduled an appointment for myself and my father, received the email, text and voicemail reminders of our appointment to only get there and be told “you don’t have an appointment, I don’t know what happened but you don’t have an appointment”Normally not a huge deal but not fun when you have to travel with a 72 year old with dementia (that doesn’t want to go) just to get told there is no appointment.None of my emails, text or voicemails indicated that I needed to call back or talk to them to avoid them canceling my appointments, they were reminders - I went back and triple checked to ensure I didn’t miss anything, pretty disappointed in the lack of empathy regarding the cancellation that was not done by my request

Everyone was helpful and courteous. The doctor was good. She was friendly and treated me well. She helped me with a prescription that treated my astigmatism and helped find the right prescription for my vision.

I've been a customer for about 6 years and go back each year because Dr. Pacheco is great. I'd give her 5 stars. But I leave every year feeling like I got ripped off by the eyeglass/lens portion of the business. There's no transparency on costs. This year they didn't even ask what items I want they just laid out what my package was going to be and pushed back when I started asking for a breakdown of costs and insurance coverage then aggressively pushed for keeping features that they were certain I needed. Last year I showed up with a Pearl Vision coupon I received because I'm on their email list and was told I couldn't use it because "this is an independently owned franchise and they don't honor PV coupons". Which is ridiculous that they can benefit from people becoming customers but then not honor coupons that their own company distributes to their customers. After going home today and doing a mock Warby Parker price quote with frames and lenses that included all the bells and whistles like transition lenses, anti scratch, antiglare, UV protection, etc. My cost without insurance still would have been less than what I paid at this place with insurance and I didn't even get frames or some of these features. I won't be purchasing anything from here any longer and may only go back for the exams.

Everyone there was very nice and helpful. Dr. Pacheco was thorough and did not rush the appointment. Ordering new glasses was a smooth process also. Worth the drive from Santa Fe!

I feel very good with care Dr Pacheco gave me! I feel that your glasses are too expensive and not competitive. I am sorry I have to leave your practice since you don’t allow for Medicare which does pay for cataracts and masculardegeneration visits.

The eye exam was great .. doc very personable! The glasses cost way too much.. I couldn’t believe it! Even with insurance my glasses would have been over 1000 dollars .. for 2 pairs.. I was bummed about that..
