This used to be my favorite thrift store in town. They moved. My crowded little secret corner became a mega thrift store, And I feel like I've lost an old friend. The response to all of the reviews saying that the massive price jump sucks, it's just that we try to price things fairly. Good for you and I admire your work, But pricing things at retail that have been donated basically just takes them off the market and doesn't help anyone.

I'm just not sure what's going on here. We have donated many popular brand new items from our online shop in the past that had been used for photo displays, orders that were lost in the mail and returned etc but I will not be donating anymore due to a friend who adopted from the shelter a few years ago who has a reactive dog and desperately needs training help but is disabled and low income and can't even get a call back and/or a return email from this facility. We will take our items and auction them online to raise funds for training help if this facility can't help people who have adopted and need assistance.

NEW ASPCA THRIFT
5234 Menaul in Daskalos shopping center.
I have now visited the NEW store five times in their ‘opening month’. Each visit has gotten better. NEW signage is now up making it easier to find.
First timers note: go East on Menaul past Bailos, left at the all brick (not very New Mexican) Center. Simple numbers on clothing without dollar signs confused me on first visit: price not size. This new modern world “Savers” benefitting pets is a galaxy different than their older store. It is like the new Whole Foods store, which has ‘gone Amazon’ with a store. Interior is a much nicer looking ‘box’ about the size of Savers and much more welcoming.
This store is world’s above Thrifttown for lighting, breathability, and looks. There is over and above care shown for alphabetizing to the DVDs/CDs/books. I found a wonderful dog bed that I had been searching online for, at a reasonable price.
I have ‘thrifted’ in Albuquerque since 1985 in ALL areas from the heights to South Valley. I believe that this store easily has potential to be a Top Five or better store for Albuquerque thrifters.
Our family recently had a gorgeous older furniture piece that we wanted to donate vs sell. The ASPCA has a GREAT online set up for large item pickups (many thrifts no longer ‘pick up’). Be prepared to add description with photographs. We were contacted immediately for a scheduled ‘pickup’.

Nice new store. Ridiculous prices! A container of tennis balls that were cheaper on Amazon and there was a dessert plate for $20 exactly like one I bought at Walmart for $4. There were other customers also laughing about prices when I was there.
I used to manage a thrift store which also benefited an animal shelter in another town and when I started there the prices were also ridiculous but after slashing prices we sold a lot more merch and made more money for the shelter. This place is going to price itself right out of business. . I stopped going to Savers because they raised prices so much and they are not even a nonprofit.

this used to be one of my favorite thrift stores, no more. along with the bigger store the prices also grew. now before you think think I'm a low baller, many people were coming out with empty hands, and some complaining about the pricing. an example: a half pint canning jar $3.00 , for 6.00 more I can buy a case of 12 with new lids and rings. I did spend 41.00 but had to be very careful and would have spent more. the inventory is nice but expensive. there were a minimal amount of children's clothing. the furniture was priced competitively.

This is the best thrift shop in town!! It's like a department store & it actually smells good!! They have everything - not just animal stuff & it's well organized with nice displays. It's good quality at great prices & I buy almost everything except for groceries there. It's even better now that It moved in March (farther down Menaul to the empty Big Lots store) because it's now 4 times the size. Bring your dog(s) with you! The staff loves them & gives them treats! Everyone there is very helpful & friendly. You can tell they love helping animals.

I like this store..prices are a bit high but they do carry some nice products. Most staff are friendly
except for the man at the front counter..he needs to learn how to talk and be more helpful. I greeted him as he was hanging clothes and he acted like I was bothering him. He probably needs customer service training or look for another job.

Please update your website to state that you do not take baby items to avoid wasting people’s time driving down there to make a donation only to be turned away because of “liability”.

I used to shop here a lot. The prices have become unrealistic for people that use thrift stores. The mission has always been great but people cannot afford the prices Many items are equivalent to new prices and they are used items . Today I saw a used tee shirt JC Penny brand and it and many others were 8 dollars. I little plastic tray, 5 dollars a wall decoration 25 dollars. I expressed my concern to the manager a few months ago and she seemed defensive. Not sure this is all going to the animals. I believe increased staff to make it look better and raise the prices is making bottom line for the animals the same.
