Brought our boy Sherlock (Giant Schnauzer/ Poodle mix) to Animal Acupuncture Westside after a lack of diagnosis or effective treatment via conventional veterinary practices for the weakness and immobility he was experiencing in his hind legs. He couldn’t get up from the floor on his own, often slipped and fell when walking, and would fall down trying to go up stairs. At 8 1/2 years young, there had to be options for my long-time adventure partner. Our regular vet mentioned acupuncture and I thought, “what have we got to lose.” Dr. Schlesinger was very thorough in his initial assessment of Sherlock, and we started seeing him weekly for a few sessions, then every two weeks for acupuncture, the occasional cold laser, and the supplemental Chinese herbs we would add to Sherlock’s food. We didn’t see immediate results, but heeded the expertise of Dr. Schlesinger that every patient responds differently, and that some require a longer period of consistent treatment. So we stuck with it, and I’m so glad we did! After six months of acupuncture, herbs, and some dietary changes, we saw not just results, but phenomenal results! Sherlock can now walk up stairs, no problem, got back enough energy to rough-house with his 3-year old fur brother, and has been doing short hikes with the family. I’m so grateful to Dr. Schlesinger for his expertise and kindness throughout this challenging season! We now maintain Sherlock’s progress with a visit every 3 weeks, and Sherlock loves the focused attention at each session and the cookie at the end! Now at 9 3/4 years young, Sherlock is thriving!

My dog was diagnosed with IVDD& was paralyzed from the neck down. I took him to 2 vets and was told that I should consider putting him down. I then brought my dog here and my dog recieved accupuncture, cold laser therapy and personalized Chinese medicine and after 2 visits began to walk. Now, after 3 visits he is running& jumping. I highly recommend this place, he saved my dog's life, literally.

I think Dr S is a wizard. Our 15 year old pibble could barely walk, was listless and had no appetite. He was a little better after 1 treatment. He now has lots of energy, a great appetite and more interest in what is going on around him. He even romps on occasion. I cannot recommend Animal Accupuncture Westside enough.

Dr Schlesinger is excellent!! He has made such a difference for my precious 14 yr old Molly. She has so much more energy and I can tell she feels better. He is very caring. Molly felt completely comfortable all thru each treatment.

We love Dr. S! We have been coming here since about mid 2020 and my miniature dachshund was basically paralyzed in the rear we started electro acupuncture and were consistent and he was walking again around the 8 month mark I believe I can't quite remember but anyways we love coming here now for maintenance Dr. S is the best and we are so grateful for him!!

Had a wonderful experience! Dr. Schlesinger is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. Luckily my dog is young and doesn't have any real issues to treat however, I wanted to establish care and am grateful to know a vet that can truly provide nutrition counseling as well as services that are highly effective such as acupuncture. Fantastic!

My big older doberman was falling down and in constant pain when we first visited here. Now, two months later, she runs and even plays with our other dog. What a joy to see her so happy and able to move!

Fabulous Dr.. he took care of my fourteen-year-old senior lab who has arthritis.. spine issues.. and a injury on her shoulder. The most compassionate veterinarian and very thorough with his exams very detail-oriented and educated me and took very good care of my senior dog. We're on our third visit at this time acupuncture.. cold laser therapy and herbs.. wonderful experience but most of all..my dog has her Mobility back and her zest for life. Do not hesitate to make an appointment this doctor does very thorough exams many questions are asked and he spends the time and truly does care. He listen to all my concerns answered all my questions never rushed me. Thank you Doctor S for taking very good care of my dog. Beverly and Chaco.

Dr. Fred Schlesinger has been such an ally in helping heal our dog Sausha. We were very worried that she would never walk again after finding her paralyzed in our backyard after work one day. Within a few weeks Sausha began to walk and wag her tail! We would highly recommend his treatments. She started out on electro-acupuncture and Chinese herbs. We now go just for regular acupuncture.

An amazing transformation! I took my foster dog to see Dr. Schlesinger due to fear of people. At home she was a very sweet dog, but in public she was scared, probably due to isolation and abuse at her former home. Dr. S did a thorough evaluation asking me lots of questions and taking a lot of time with the dog so she was comfortable with him. We started herbs and accupuncture. Within a week I saw a drastic difference in her. She started wanting to meet people. Still apprehensive, but better. After a couple more treatments, with me working on behavior modification, the people at adoption events were amazed at the difference in the dog. I contribute a lot of the positive changes to the herbal and acupuncture treatment. I had the dog for four months before beginning treatment with slow progress, but the pace and amount of progress greatly improved after seeing Dr. S. I would use Chinese Medicine and Dr. S again!

Amazing Veterinarian!! Very caring and my dog loves him. My dog is now walking after he fell and he was dragging his back legs. Dr. SCHLESINGER is very knowledgeable in Chinese herbs. They have helped my dog too!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!😊
