My son and I visited the Tularosa Basin Museum for the first time, and our knowledge of how Alamogordo and the surrounding area formed. Very informative, with actual photos and items of the past century and a half. My outlook of Alamogordo increased in a positive and educational manner. Loved the videos of how the town formed, from the Alamogordo High School students. Great job!!!...Although, I do miss the old Pub ?

Smaller than museum in Deming NM but similar in type. Very interesting place if you like local history. Call in advance if you want a tour of the pottery factory, which is located at another site.

Really enjoyed the museum and so did my 3 and 6 year olds. They have a lot of great artifacts and tell great stories about the history of the area. They also had a scavenger hunt to keep the kids engaged (with prizes).

The museum was very informative as was the docent! It's worth stopping in to learn more about Alamogordo's place in history and the vital part the region really has played in our collective past.

Well considering this is the early days of Covid green zone, which allows some local travel around the state, it was refreshing that one of the places that was open was this dandy little museum. The building itself is got very unique history, and they have a really nice collection of historical artifacts for the area. Really very well done for a small town museum. The docent at the front door was very polite and knowledgeable but then she also kind of get out of your way and let you explore the place. I recommend this to anybody who's traveling in one to learn more about the area.
