TDS is not a great provider but one of the few ones available in the area. I would highly encourage you to buy your own router and modem instead of using the one they rent out to you. The Modem/Router they provide is cheap, low quality, and will probably break within 1-2 years. If you are with them for a year or more it is way cheaper for you to just get your own router and modem. If you have phone and internet services bundled with them you wont be able to use your own modem. If you have fiber through Tularosa Communications in your area, I highly recommend using them instead of TDS.

TDS is the worst service I’ve ever bought but it’s the only service that small towns in New Mexico offer. The service is so slow so it’s not even worth buying the high speed just get the regular service. Customer service takes forever to pick up and when they do it’s a hit or miss if the agent knows how to do their job without giving you attitude.

What's wrong with you guys. The service is horrible. The guide shows one thing and a different program comes on. Outages almost every other day. But they sure are quick to bill you with no compensation for the errors in the service. Professional crooks.

Canceled services because I was moving and went to turn in equipment and pay balance due. Specifically asked to make sure my account was completely clear and was assured it was. Then recieved an email saying I still owed a balance and if I didn't pay I would be charged a late fee I have no issue paying what I owe and I did but if I didn't catch that email or it went to spam I would be incurring late fees and not even know because I was told at the office when I canceled and returned equipment I paid everything I owe.

When I first started with this company, I was priced 80 with a bundle that included a phone. I told them I didn't want a phone, but was told a phone was needed and I would get 20 taken off my bill. After a couple years, this company is now charging 120 a month. Idk if it's because this company thinks it can charge whatever they would like because everyone else in Alamogordo has them as a service provider..but thats trash. Don't bother signing up for them now, because they'll take advantage of you in the long run. good riddance

We are happily switching to Tularosa Communications as they have fantastic customer service, no scams with billing, completely open and honest with what they're doing, and no throttling. I wish I could say the same for TDS, but the only thing worthy of a star or more rating is the wonderful Installations guy that set it up. That's it.

My internet currently runs at 172mbps when am supposed to have over 200mbps. My streaming service keeps cutting out and I can watch anything without my signal cutting off and on. Terrible service for a very expensive fee which TDS keeps raising every year. I am seriously considering switching providers.

——/EDIT/—-Original review still left untouched. A technician came out to the house and gave us a means of testing our speed online, quick and easy. The call center was a waste of time but the techs are very helpful.—-/Original/——Just swapped from 300 mbps service to 1gb and my speeds got even slower. Customer service just had me turn it off 3 times. I have a tech coming but I expect him to also just turn it off a few times. I have had their service before and if there was ANYONE else, I would have contacted them this time.

I originally paid for 600mbps but at best got 250mbps. So I downgraded my plan to the 300mbps. My speeds immediately dropped to 125mbps.You will get half the speed you pay for. When you need to contact them for anything other than new service you will be put on a hold line that is never answered. The only way to speak to an actual person is to request new service. You will then be transferred to an available agent almost immediately. The first, second, and sometimes the third person you get transferred to can't help you so eventually you must request a supervisor. A supervisor is usually able to solve the issue within minutes. It's a huge waste of time every time you need to contact customer service.

I’m convinced that anyone that gives this company more than one star is a bot. This has to be the worst internet provider I’ve ever seen. If they don’t know how to help you then good luck friend because they will either just hang up on you or transfer you to a random department who will just try to transfer you back. Don’t get me started on the shady stuff they pull with billing. Seems like they are always trying to get more money out of you. But they can get away with it because they have no competition in my area.

They are terrible. They did not want to cancel my account. They told me that I did not have a bill when I turned in my stuff. Then got a collections email because they never sent me a bill. If you can go with another provider I would. Service was always in and out.

I am new to Alamogordo and needed to set up internet quickly. Raul helped me get set up in less than 20 minutes, I had high speed internet in less than an hour for an affordable monthly rate. Raul was very friendly and efficient! It was also very easy to self install.

internet is so slow and at times it is out completely. This has been going on for the last three weeks. I'm paying a lot of money for terrible service.

I’m not very happy with the service being provided. I’m paying $110/month for 600MB just for the internet to be slower than a tortoise. I don’t know why I’m even paying that much for a service that barely works. The only good thing about this place are the workers that come out to fix issues and install the equipment, never had any issues with them and they’ve always been professional and courteous.

I would give TDS a negative number if I could. The TV/internet goes out at least once a week and the remote keeps malfunctioning. Then when you call the local customer service telephone number, you end up talking to someone somewhere in the Caribbean. I am so disappointed. When I moved here and saw the TDA building in town, I thought I was getting a home-town cable company.P.s. this is not a complaint about the repair technicians. When they come out to fix any issues, they are fantastic.
