Called here at 5pm on a Saturday because my dog managed to get her cone off and stitches open when we stepped out for a few hours. I couldn't take her to her usual vet because they were closed for the day. When I initially called, the receptionist told me the visit would be considered an "urgent care visit" and would be $115 not including any additional care needed. I said I was calling around and would call back after getting quotes from surrounding animal hospitals. After calling quite a few veterinary hospitals, St. Francis seemed the most affordable so I called back to see if I could still bring my Maggie girl in. I spoke with the same guy who picked up the first time around. He told me "sure you can still keep 6pm appointment but it's $215 now". When I asked why there was a difference in price in the 15 minutes it took to give him a call back, he told me "I made a mistake". I don't believe that for a second. They wanted to charge me more because I wasn't an existing patient and they KNEW I'd probably go in due to the nature of my dogs condition. I ended up getting in contact with my dogs vet and she assured me that the wound was mostly healed so I didn't have to bring her in; to save my money since they would've seen my pup and told me it looked fine but still charged me for the emergency exam. I'm glad I listened to her. I won't ever bring my dog here in the future after this ordeal. Totally unprofessional. Now I see why their rating is so low.

Update below:
My dog was their patient for 13 years and when I called to have my dog euthanized because he was dieing from lack of air due to cancer, I was told they couldn't see him that day but I would have to make an appointment and they didn't have any opening until the next day. I told them he wouldn't make it to the next day. They have no compassion for your pets. Called another vet and they said bring him right in. Never made it to the vet he passed away at home.
Update to this review:
My dog's doctor, Dr. Robinson, and staff were extremely apologic the way this situation was handled so I decided to give them another chance with my other dog, who is diabetic and has a bad heart. The doctor and staff are extremely friendly and caring for my dog and I am pleased now and give them 4 stars.

Brought my baby to puppy urgent care on Sunday with an infected hot spot. We were in and out in a little over an hour with her wound cleaned and medication in hand!

I had to take my nearly 17 year old cat in for suspected UTI. I was able to go right away on a Sunday morning. Dr. Matthew Jedlinski was very thorough in checking Piper out because of her age and recent diagnosis of being very close to being in early renal failure. Piper was gently and well cared for. I received a call the day after our appointment to check on Piper and a call the following day with urinalysis results confirming UTI. Meds had already been given and it was decided nothing further needed unless Piper did not improve,at which time I could consult with my regular vet OR call St. Francis back. This as not my first visit there at the Woolwich office. I have been highly satisfied with every visit.

I can’t say enough about the incredible care my goat received at St. Francis Veterinary Center on Saturday. The staff was not only super friendly but also incredibly efficient and helpful. They attended to my goat quickly and with the utmost care. I’m truly grateful for their expertise and compassion. Five stars all the way!

LOVE this vet office! Everyone is very caring and really makes you and your dog feel like you are family. Every time we have an appointment, my dog is always greeted with smiles and lots of pets! I trust the doctors and the nurses/techs 100%, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I love this place, everyone that works here is so kind and helpful! My dog had a very bad infection from a dog bite and the vet was amazing and all his assistants were fantastic! My dog could barely walk, he was in really bad shape, just the next day after all the meds prescribed he was my Kayne again! Thank you All do much, you saved my family member and were so wonderful!

The Doctor, nurse and assistants were very professional and caring. They handled my cat very well and put her at ease. The doctor explained everything in detail.

Took my 3 1/2 year old boxer to see the cardiologist and they had the best team ever! My dog was so scared and they were just super sweet and caring!

I have been bringing my dogs here for years, through name and management changes. Everyone is consistently kind and clearly love animals. My current dog is super nervous, but all the staff is great with him. Thank you St Francis for helping me care for Bruno.

I was impressed with the service I received from the 1st call to the visit and everything in between. My pet and I were treated with compassion and my dog is little but nippy when she is not feeling well. They were so nice and gentle with her. I have had horrible experiences in the past at other vets so I was very nervous about having to take my 15 yr old girl there but they were very helpful and welcoming. I will definitely be bringing my other pets to them. They really did a great job. Thank u so much for getting me in immediately and helping my girl. Her eye seems to be getting better everyday ❤️
