I recently received a phone call from Tommy Moscarello, a Customer Service Representative, who mentioned that my bond was still open and warned that failure to pay could result in it being sent to collections. To provide context, my mother passed away from cancer in 2021, and as the only child, I was entrusted with handling her estate, for which the court mandated a bond. Despite the court finalizing the distribution in 2023, I continued to receive calls regarding the bond. It's disheartening that this company seems solely focused on monetary gain. Threatening collections even after the case has concluded is not only unethical but also vindictive. Picture your credit being decimated, not due to any actions on your part, but rather because a company prioritizes profit above all else, resorting to any means necessary. If that's what you're seeking in a bond company look no further, Colonial Surly will. It's in the name. And don't forget to ask for Tommy Moscarello.

Dealing with this company was absolutely terrible. I purchased a title bond it was supposedly sent regular USPS . Waiting almost 3 weeks and still never received a bond. Now I have to start this while process with a whole different company. I wish they would have offered cancellation the first attempt of them trying to send it.

They canceled my binder without telling me because my credit score was too low but not my actual credit score apparently I have two who knew but after insuring me for 3 years now I'm not eligible all of a sudden what a joke this company sucks

If I could give them zero stars I would have. They are extremely underdeveloped in the communication area. I recently needed my bond changed and the in email said they could do it but after paying it became an issue. Their solution was a prorated amount and getting a new bond for the information I need. They should’ve correctly stated the information the first time I reached out that’s poor business practice I will absolutely not be returning next year.

Zero communication skills, zero customer sevice. My company has filed a claim on a bond of Colonial's client, and 40 days later they still haven't responded to e mails, when I call they pretty much yell at me saying that claims department doesnt take phone inquiries. No wonder this is a go to company for fradulent freightbrokers.

Colonial Surety sold me a 1 year Bond, that they then decided to cancel, due to no fault of mine. They will not refund my full amount and has left me hanging. Took my money under false pretense, without my knowledge of course, and pulled a fast one! If you want to be scammed and robbed, Colonial Surety Company is the place for you!!!According to my bond, they did not follow their own stipulations for canceling notification. I have several emails, where I requested the refund, and they have refused repeatedly. According to their bond, if I send a hold harmless statement, then they are not held accountable and the bond is void. I sent that in accordance to a full refund. They still refused. I purchased a one year bond and did not receive it. Therefore, I should receive a full refund. They have completely stopped communicating with me at this point and will no longer respond to my emails. I have no choice but to warn others, as much as possible, wherever possible. Also, I now have to hire an attorney!
