Sheer and utter incompetence, it's actually surprising this institution is still operating. They keep making incorrect deposits(on one occasion they have deposited another person's money in my account, mind boggling), incorrectly calculating escrow balances, constantly sending letters of errors requesting deposits back due to their mistakes etc. I have never dealt with a bank like this. Stay away from Provident bank!!! Their conduct should probably be reported to the consumer affairs. I give them one star for automatically cancelling an inactive account after 45 days which I was going to do anyway, however, it is surprising they will just close it without any communication. You've been warned.

Strongly non recommended that branch at allVery bad customer service ( Indian teller is very rude ) plus her manager will close my account/ my husband/ my dad / my family from that branch will indicate that we don’t care as they don’t care ( requesting $100 bill to exchange to coins for my kid ) refused & lie mention don’t have it after mention will close my account give me right way .Strongly extremely non recommended that bank in that branch

Came to this location as it has a drive thru, I do not have a bank account with this bank but was given a check so went to cash it. It was for only $25, the teller asked for two forms of ID which I have. After a few minutes she asked for me to remove my hijab because I do not have my hair covered in my current ID. NOT ONLY IS THIS ILLEGAL, she asked me this in front of my child and another teller. Will be looking into legal proceedings.

Useless location ( very bad manager & very bad teller ) requesting $100 as 25c coins on Good Friday / 2021 refused mention that shortageAfter mention will close all accounts ( my family ) afraid of closing all accounts, given to me . Will close that account.

Came to this location as it has a drive thru, I do not have a bank account with this bank but was given a check so went to cash it. It was for only $25, the teller asked for two forms of ID which I have. After a few minutes she asked for me to remove my hijab because I do not have my hair covered in my current ID. they close the back entrance to the lot so you cant get in or out, the bank said they do this so people don't cut thru the lot. WHAT ABOUT THE REGULAR CUSTOMERS THAT WOULD LIKE IT OPEN!!!!!!!

Don’t open account in provident I was calling Monday they don’t receive call and they charging for statement cost $2.00 for statement and they don’t Evan ask for statement and they don’t pickup the call so my thinks don’t go with this bank don’t put your hard work money in this bank

The Provident Bank in Iselin, NJ which we've used for years sent an electronic letter indicating our mortgage was not received and a fee was charged. It was sent through the mail and we did not know where the payment was. We checked for a few days later and the checks "never arrived". We reported the checks as lost and made payments directly to the bank. From the Loan Office we received a $15.00 fee request for the stop payment for the check which was "lost". The worker sent a copy of the original check. The bank had the first check in their possession. These bank workers kept trying to charge us for the fees for almost one month, our attempts to correct this mix-up was met with workers not returning calls and not crediting the customers' account ASAP. The electronic calls and Xeroxed letters were never scrutinized by alert workers. I don't want to continue my mortgage with Provident Bank. The type of business should not have these kinds of people working there.

It's a bank; does the job, people are nice. It sucks that you need to call a number to 'reset' your online bank account password. Their locker rates are reasonable for the size.
