The reason I rated the rooms at five star is because I paid $98 a night to be across from the boardwalk, has a two burner stove, a midsize fridge, microwave, coffee, pot, and dishes, glasses and utensils. Queen size bed, twin size bed, and a two chair dinette. TV on an angle from the wall. Very clean, You cannot beat this at all Unless you’re looking for things to do at the hotel, but I come here for the boardwalk and the beach.

I had no reservation and stopped here after finding Rus Mar online. I’m glad I did. The location is great! Right in front of the boardwalk. Parking right in front of the room. Room is nice, clean and has a kitchenette. The front desk was very helpful. Highly recommended.
Nearby activities: Boardwalk, beach, Monster Truck rides, Theme Parks, Dinning, Live music
Safety: Parking is right next to the room
Walkability: 5 minutes walk from the boardwalk

The manager is so ignorant and will hang up on you when contacted! They will also dodge your calls. Not very helpful. Very poor customer service.

I enjoyed my experience here last night. I stayed in 208 I believe. Right by the boardwalk. The guy was super nice and made me and my family feel very comfortable. employee was nice enough to give me extra 10 min to get my kids situated when I was running close to my check out time. Also saw fireworks and the rooms were clean. Definitely will be back. Thank you for being so nice and polite to me and my family ! And also accommodating me when I messed up my booking !! -Cristina H

I have been going to this motel for the past ten or so years and my most recent stay had been disappointing. Right at check in there were tons of hairs on the bedding and the bathroom and seemed like the room had not been cleaned thoroughly. Some of the bedding had small brown stains. Also, there are new curtains instead of blinds, that touch the bed, which makes me wonder if the curtains are ever cleaned or not. We were given additional towels when requested though. Hoping this was just a one time thing and the cleanliness improves for our next stay
Walkability: across the street from boardwalk

This godforsaken place was so unlivable I considered calling the authorities. Me and my girlfriend were going to spend ONE NIGHT in this motel and decided we would rather drive 3 hours back to Morris County than spend even a single night in this dump. The room reeked like mold, it was absolutely disgusting. My girlfriend has asthma and she could hardly breathe while we were in the room. It was so bad to the point that I started coughing as soon as I walked in. We decided to leave, but when we went to the front desk to drop off our key, no one was there, despite being a “24 hour” service. We tried to get our money back, and the idiot at the front desk kept saying he would get his “boss” to call us back. Each time we called it was the same guy answering the phone, and we never got to speak with an owner or manager. Absolutely horrible, bring a gas mask if you plan on staying in this festering mold colony of a motel.

If I could rate this hotel a 0 I would this was the worst hotel I have ever seen. Walked in and walked right out. Hotel had an unbearable smell of mold. As someone with severe asthma, if I had stayed for more than 20 minutes in this environment I’d be on the way to the ER. These hotels are unlivable, even for one night. Ruined our whole vacation, had to drive over 4 hours back home and would way rather that than staying here. Staff is no help whatsoever and cannot seem to understand what a refund is. We didn’t even stay at the hotel! Needs to be refunded! When I went to explain the situation to the desk worker, no staff was to be found, hotel was left completely unsupervised at just 4pm with just a phone number on the door. We called the number to ask for a refund and was told their server was down and they could do nothing to help. Called back the next day and asked to speak to the owner and continued to get the same guy on the phone who was no help at all and could not seem to understand the horror of a hotel this was. A day later and I am still coughing and struggling to breathe. Also the location is absolutely in the middle of nowhere and you'd have to drive and pay $10 to park if you wanted to go to morey’s piers.
Safety: The air in this hotel was not safe to breathe in. This hotel was not livable, not even for one night. I am still coughing and struggling to breathe a day after being in this hotel for 15 minutes (not even staying the night) If I had stayed the night I’d end up in the ER from the tainted air.

Beware! Room is filthy with a strong mildew order. As I opened the door a roach scattered under the bed. Needless to say, I didn’t stay. Went to front desk and was told no refund. They offered me another room but I refused. I’d rather sleep on the beach.

I did a lot of research when planning my trip last summer, I had a budget in mind but also I had a few criteria in regards to location that RusMar nailed. I have a lot of driving anxiety and driving from Newark Airport down to Wildwood was gonna be a challenge for me so I knew I wanted somewhere that A. had designated parking spots(cause the last thing I wanted after that drive was to not be able to park), B. be easy to drive to from the parkway(it was a few months ago but if I remember correctly I just hopped in the right lane after entering Wildwood and made one or two turns and got there no problem) and C. was an easy walk to the boardwalk. RusMar is luckily right across the street from the boardwalk and at the end of the boardwalk too which is good for people who like to walk/bike the whole boardwalk(there is a bike rental place you pass crossing the street to the boardwalk if you’d like) people who want to go to the beach and also if you don’t think you can walk the whole boardwalk the tram car stops maybe a block away so you can hop on that and it’ll take you to the other end. Staff was very nice, I never really needed them as we were either on the boardwalk or asleep the whole trip but there was always someone available at the front if we needed. The room is what you get in Wildwood: there was 2 beds, a bathroom with a shower, a TV, WiFi a small fridge, stove and microwave and some plates, nothing spectacular but exactly what I expected. It was a great trip and RusMar was exactly what I was looking for.

We stayed at the Rus Mar back in August and it was quite lovely. Aj was the most wonderful host, I’ve never encountered a motel manager who made you feel as welcomed as he did. Will definitely return again!

Went there for the first time this past weekend. Had a great time! The motel was awesome and a great price. Had a full bathroom and full kitchen! Comfortable queen size bed. Free wifi. Right across the street from the beach/boardwalk. Only thing the room was missing was a coffee maker. We'll definitely be staying there again in the future! AJ was a marvelous employee. He was super nice and accommodating! I highly recommend everyone to check out the Rusmar Motel! We had a blast!! The view from our room was nice too. Could see the ocean! There were nice chairs and a little table to sit outside of our room and relax!

A true wildwood motel! It was efficient, CLEAN!, accommodating, & close to everything. To ask for anything more would make things complicated & take away from a real wildwood vacation. Thank you Aj for your great hospitality. It's refreshing to see a business that still care about their purpose.

I stayed in a 2 room Suite with my 2 teenagers and my mom and loved it. AJ was a great host who always made sure that we were relaxing and having a great time. Steps to the beginning of the boardwalk and Beach, although getting to the water was a different story. If your looking for a clean, quiet, friendly place then this is it. Will definitely stay again.Walkability: We walked alot!! We were steps from the boardwalk and Beach, however it's a really far walk to the water but I feel like it's like that no matter were you stay. Also since we were at the beginning of the boardwalk, there really wasn't much to see and it was a long walk to the shops and amusement park. I like staying were it's quite and less busy so Rus Mar was perfect for us. The 2nd day we drove several blocks and paid $5 to park so we could see more of the boardwalk, it worked out great!
