Wonderful place! Rooms are very nice. Right next to the beach, splash pad, bike rentals, playground and more! The hotel has a gift shop, pool, 8 hole putt putt, and game room. Do recommend!

Rooms very out dated. I think the tub was painted. Patch job right above shower. My 10 yr old was grossed out. Towels looked stained to use for shower so we used our beach towels. Beds were hard like sleeping on the floor. Very far walk to the boardwalk.
Walkability: Walk to start of boardwalk was about 1/2 an hrs to 45 mins

PSA DO NOT STAY AT THE Sand Dune IN WILD WOOD- THEY WILL GIVE YOUR ROOM AWAY.
my husband and I booked a room in July LAST YEAR while we were THERE IN PERSON. just like we did the year before- booked a week in person. Last year they didn’t have (ie lost) our reservation and had to move our room. No problem, as long as we have the same kind of room on the same floor not an issue. They did this to friends of ours as well- who have been Going there FOR 20 YEARS.
Today- For the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, husband calls to put a deposit down, ans he tried to call LAST MONTH (January) and left voicemails but no one returned his call- and they tell us that they don’t have his name and can’t find our reservation. They then proceed to tell him that the rooms are fully booked with deposits paid, And we don’t have a reservation.
HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE WHEN WE BOOKED IN PERSON? What they need to do is call the family they GAVE OUR ROOM TO and say- “I’m sorry we made a mistake. Here is your deposit back. This room was already reserved.”
No such luck. No apologies. Nothing. Infact, they were very nasty. They did offer us a room on the third floor with no kitchen, because apparently that makes sense to them to move a family that BOOKED A SPECIFIC ROOM (room 16 to be exact- they told us we couldn’t have number one because it had already been booked- and Pat and I joked with our friends that we were being exiled to the end of the first floor) because of two small children an an elderly person. No. The third floor with no kitchen is not acceptable. We booked this in person the second day of our stay. YOU GAVE OUR ROOM AWAY. IT WAS BOOKED.
They also told him “somebody” emailed him, but when asked they said “oh we don’t know”. CLEARLY you never sent an email. my husband has no email from them except for a receipt from our stay last year. When my husband called back- he was told “I’m not arguing, you’re not coming and that’s it.” Disgusting.
Unprofessional. Unorganized. Unapologetic. Just thought everyone should know.
It’s not that we can’t find other places to stay, there are plenty- but we book with other families. We go on vacation with them, so now our kids are going to miss out. We’ve been looking forward to this since we left last year. We just find their attitude and unwillingness to admit they messed up noteworthy.

Fantastic owners, clean rooms. Great view of the beach from the hotel. Fairly quite hotel and good for families. Only negative are the rock hard beds.UPDATE: recently returned from another great week at the San Dune Motel. They've got new beds and are much more comfortable.

Talk about reasonably...here your spot. They have a beautiful pool, staff is friendly, location is perfect and again...price is right. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Would definitely stay there again. I've been bragging about the place. They have a free miniature golf course, like 8 holes, I think. You have grills you can use, came in handy, free coffee in the mornings, a small game room for teens, a sunbathing deck and good people.

I always support a family owned business until my experience with the Sand Dune Hotel. I had made a reservation for two rooms in June then one in August for a Labor Day vacation with my family. When I called to ask about the type of pots and pans they had for kitchen , the wife stated " you cancelled your third room". I explained the last call to her was a confirmed reservation and a charge to my card which was still on my credit card. She stated there were no more rooms available to rebook- knowing my family won't fit in two rooms I was out off luck. Not only that, their return policy was 14 days and this contact was the day before our trip. I had emailed her to ask if we could move two beds together to make a queen bed. I then received a nasty phone call from her husband stating I was rude for asking to move furniture- not only. rude to her but his daughter as well whom I never spoke with. I was able to book at the Bal Harbour at 10:30pm , the night before our vacation. Bal Harbour was a fabulous choice and we ended up having a memorable vacation. Don't think your plans are solid when dealing with Sand Dune Hotel- they almost ruined our family vacation!
