So... where do I start? As a first-year student in one of NYC's competitive musical theatre programs and studying in the Mecca of all things professional theatre, I found a voice teacher who was patient with me and helped me grow as an artist. Ms. Lisa has been a key contributor to my success! She taught me how to walk into a room and introduce myself, sustain healthy vocal techniques while using my authentic voice, and reassured me through all my doubts as a senior in high school transitioning to college, reminding me that I deserved to pursue this amazing art form. If there's a place to learn prime vocal technique, it's in NJ at Theater Steps with Ms. Lisa. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND START LEARNING WITH THEATERSTEPS!

We are so fortunate to have found Theater steps and can’t say enough good things. My child absolutely enjoys every session and being part of this great program. Mrs. Lisa is a complete blessing and helps build confidence, my child who can be a little timid has blossomed all thanks to Mrs. Lisa continuous support, patience, dedication and most importantly making it fun to learn.

I have been going to Theater Steps and have had Ms. Lisa as my voice teacher for the past few years, and I couldn’t be more thankful. The growth I have had as a person and performer is something I am so grateful for and I owe it all to Ms.Lisa, she brings out the best in me, I highly recommend her for anyone that wants to improve as a musician and performer, all of her experience with being in the industry has taught me a lot over the years and it feels wonderful to have her as a teacher and to know she is truly on my team and supports me through everything!! Theater Steps is the best!!

I’d like to share my deepest gratitude for Lisa and Theater Steps. She is a wonderful teacher, and with her years of experience on Broadway and off, she has such a wealth of wisdom and experience to share. In a word she loves what she does and she cares deeply for each and everyone of her students. In my experience working with her over the years, I’ve seen that she is a wonderful music ministry leader for our church. She has a beautiful voice, and people are drawn to her. I only started taking lessons with her last August, and she has brought so much out of me in such a short period of time. Every time I meet with her, she has something new for me to learn from. By we have background, I have been a musician most of my life. I play trumpet and piano. I’ve even toured Europe and studied at the Eastman school of music. However, I have yet to have a teacher like Lisa. She brings out the best in me, not only as a singer but as a musician as well. And I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to her, for believing in me and for working with me.

Mr.s Lisa is a knowledgeable, energetic and fun teacher who imparts good techniques and at the same time instills a lifelong appreciation of music.I highly recommend theater steps to everyone who has a desire to learn. My daughter has been with Mr.s Lisa since September of 2014 and Thanks to Mrs. Lisa my daughter recently got accepted to her first choice at Westminster choir college in Rider University.

My 6.5 year old daughter has been taking piano and voice lessons for a little over 2 years now with Ms. Lisa, the co-owner. She enjoys her lessons with her. Ms. Lisa is a great teacher. She is very patient, good with students, passionate about music and ensuring her students are properly trained. Her business ethic is excellent. She also has a non-profit organization, Theatrical Society and is holding a free musical program for ages 6-14. The show will be in December. My daughter had a great time during last week's rehearsal. If you are considering having your child take music lessons I would highly recommend Theater Steps. Thank you Theater Steps for all that you do 🙂

My daughter has been with Ms. Lisa (Theater Steps) for more than 5 years. Prior to this, she had already been playing the piano but there was no style, articulation, technique and expression. As long as she could play the notes, she got to move on to the next piece. After a long search, a friend referred me to Ms. Lisa. Thru Ms. Lisa's guidance my daughter is now a vastly-improved pianist. Ms. Lisa's vibrant energy and nurturing character has helped my daughter enjoy learning and playing the piano.
I am not surprised that Theater Steps has grown tremendously. Ms. Lisa started conducting her classes at her home and now she has her own studio. Although we have to travel 25 minutes more now we chose to stick by her because there is no instructor like her.

Excellent place to learn voice and piano. Both my girls have been going to ms. Lisa for the last 5 years. She is very professional and gets the best out of the kids and has a great team of people along with her. I Highly recommend Theater Steps if you are looking for one.

As a Theater Steps graduate, there are many things that I have learned throughout my theater career that I apply in my current situations. I am very thankful for the discipline and work-ethic that was required to perform a piece to its absolute best. Because of this, I understand what it takes to excel in any field, not just performing on stage. And yet at the same time, I have made many memories and friends during my time at TS, faces that I won’t ever forget and I am always glad to see. TS is more than a community, it is a family, and I highly recommend extending an arm out to this wonderful school.

Glad we joined Theater Steps in Feb 2011. TS provides excellent training and guidance that have helped my children develop skills and discipline; gain confidence to participate in recitals and auditions; join music festivals and competitions. Highly satisfied, 8+ years and counting ...

My daughter has been taking piano and voice lessons with Miss Lisa for last 5 years now and we simply love her!! Miss Lisa and her team are full of energy and enthusiasm when it comes to teaching as well as while coordinating all performances and certification tests. Will recommend this school anytime for kids interested in piano or singing!

Theater Steps is the best place to learn about how to get into the theater business. Lisa has first hand experience in performing nationally and internationally and brings this knowledge to all her students. They gave my niece the tools to be prepared for auditions with her repertoire. They also prepare students with headshots and demo reels to help with her college admissions. Best place to go if you are a serious performer.

My name is Fatima Velasco, I just recently graduated from the Theater Step program. I took voice lessons with Mrs. Lisa for a total for about 3 years, and quite honestly my life was completely changed. Since my first lesson Mrs. Lisa, with her exuberant and passionate presence, never failed to push me to be the best singer and performer I could be. I always loved to sing, taking voice lessons at other studios, however but I never felt my voice was stretched at its full potential. I remember being so meek and afraid to project and perform for others because I was not confident enough. Through these 3 years alone, these lessons helped me develop my voice and use its unique strengths. I even had won a few titles in competitions, something I never expected I could do. She did not just help me find my confidence on the stage but in life too. The staff as well is so supportive, such as Mr. Joe who always does his best to produce quality work for the studio and for the students. I highly recommend Theater Steps. This might sound cliche but I truly believe that I would have not been the same person I am without the guidance of Mrs. Lisa, Mr. Joe, and the rest of the TS crew.

My son developed the love for music in Theater Steps. Recitals and music festival participation is highly encouraged here. It teaches the children confidence and courage. The kids find them enjoyable too. We registered my son here so he can learn how to play the piano like some sort of hobby, not expecting much since he was not really interested in learning. That was over 3 years ago and we have stayed since. With my son playing beautiful pieces now and performing happily in his school and in our community, I'm in awe! Theater Steps is wondrous and his dedicated, caring and supportive teacher, Ms. Lisa, is the best of the best.
