A dealer and another repair shop said a new engine was needed on my 2013 Prius V; the latter offered to “dispose” of car at no cost (I suspect they would have repaired and sold it). Extensively researched shops specializing in hybrid engine repairs:

Found 14 Google reviews by customers, who were happy with Walko hybrid repairs.
Kyle, Walko Hybrid Technician fixed my car in 2 weeks (after sitting in my driveway, for 1 year). Asked me for car symptoms:
• Check engine light displayed;
• Engine revved, without me pressing on gas;
• Jack hammer or slight fluttering noise, when accelerated from a stop (due to coolant leaking into engine and then drying up); and
• Diagnostic codes from my T-Mobile tool (engine misfires).
He provided details and pricing for me to make needed decisions. After repairs made, my car drives like new, even though it has 226,000 miles:
• Head gasket replaced;
• Water pump replaced;
• Brake master cylinder module replaced; and
• Damaged engine cylinder repaired by machine shop.
Any NJ hybrid owner, who needs car repairs should go to Walko. You won’t regret it!”

The staff and manager (I believe his name was Terrell but I may be mistaken) were super helpful and met all my needs even though they were busy. “Excellent customer service and mechanical work! They saved me THOUSANDS! How you might ask?? Story time! My son jumps in his '14 Ford Fusion (High mileage) and the dashboard is lit up like a Xmas tree. No power steering!I call around to a couple of local shops and they are honest - electric power steering needs a computer reset which they don't have and recommend going to a dealer. So, I went to the Ford dealer near me. Their diagnosis was a whole new steering rack is needed - $3,800!!!!I do some more googling to find Mark's specializes in fords so I call them. They can deal with the computer stuff so I bring it there. They do analysis (sent scan reports!) and discover the wire to the power steering motor was chewed off (rats!)! $500 to fix! Saved me over $3k.Great use of technology for the service. They email estimates with pictures and final bill! All very clear. (Going back to Ford with this info to get my diagnosis fee back!)Service is great (thanks Abbey, Mark and the team!).I really appreciate a well run, local, and competent business!!”

I also used the Xtreme Clean car wash following the oil change and they too were great, highly recommend coming here.

You get more than the assembly line, "please move your car because there are cars behind you", dab-dab treatment with the Top Hat wash. You wait your turn until your car is pulled to the side and given the attention you've been looking for. They have a great system!”
